That is sad ... I remember on that show they even showed some pro wrestling footage or used pro wrestling terms. It was the spot to get sports info, and he was pretty good at what he did. Sad to hear that he passed.

As someone who watched him on WRC-TV 4 since I was tiny, I can safely say that this death hits me harder than the others this year. RIP.

Sad to see him go, when I was a kid, The Sports Machine was the sign that the weekend was over.

RIP George. I stayed up late many a Sunday night, watching the highlights.
Anyone remember the cameo he has in Something About Mary?

Here's a unique story he did from 1985...
Very sad news to hear.

The Sports Machine and The Plays of the Month were a Sunday habit for me. Damn, we're losing the good ones too frequently these days.

Though I'm not a mainstream sports fan, I did used to watch the syndicated Sports Machine. I loved when he showed pro wrestling clips. He showed a lot of Rey Misterio Jr. clips, and even called him the human highlight reel! I liked George Michael, too. R.I.P.
