Where do you guys think this is going? They don't say a thing about Armstrong being a former wrestler which I'm guessing is how they are going since Strike would definitely know that. I don't see what they are trying to do with it. I was thinking they were doing a Shane Sewell type of storyline but it doesn't look like it.

I'm liking the thing with Punk & R-Truth. The thing with Taker was going nowhere, and while I'm a big fan of Punk, he doesn't need loads of title reigns to prove he's one of the best. He's fine right now as one of the top heels.

I've said it before, Punk can feud with a mid carder like Truth, but if WWE wants to move him back up to the main event, people will buy it.

All I have to say is, Punk was absolutely right last week about Armstrong's awful pin counts. I've always hated them.

He's fine right now as one of the top heels. I agree. R-Truth gains a ton of credibility by being given the opportunity to feud with the most recently dethroned World Heavyweight Champion. It's his biggest opportunity to move himself forward since he came back last year. As far as Punk goes, R-Truth is a good foil because he is so over. Punk needs to keep his heat. And he is better off as a heel against a lesser face than as the smallest fish in the main event. Batista, Jericho and Rey will all be worth more buyrates against Undertaker or each other at this point, so Punk gains more staying power by being in the midcard holding pattern. In fact, I wouldn't mind seeing Punk reenter the IC picture, along with R-Truth, Ziggler and Morrison. Also, mad points to missellie for the good avatar and fantastic sig picture.

The plan seems to maintain Punk's role as a talented but whiny little bastard, which is good.
He's not yet the big draw that WWE wants to turn him into, so little stories like these can do a good deal to establish his character. Fans have to know who they're buying the PPVs for to hopefully see get beat.

Who are you all and what did you do with the real IWC?! ...okay, just kidding But this is something generating negativity elsewhere whereas I seem to share the thoughts of everyone here about this issue. I can't say I actually know where it's going exactly, but I'm pleased to see a potentially still valuable member of the roster in R-Truth getting some attention. And much like Christian on ECW, Punk is clocking up an extremely solid run of in-ring and out of the ring performances. I do think 'holding pattern' is right, at least for the moment, but rather than dropping his effort like some guys in the past Punk is rolling with it.

It is getting a possible Punk/Truth feud started, which is pretty good. If not, then it's keeping Punk fresh while giving Punk/Undertaker time to rest, so it's not overkill and there is variety.

Scott Armstrong's biggest feud of his career comes as a referee.

So basically, the WWE is doing with R-Truth on Smackdown the same that they're doing with Kofi on RAW, feuding him with an established main eventer who just lost the title.

I think they'll make Armstrong come out and state that his horrible counting skills are because of years of alcohol abuse, and he's sick of hearing about the "evils" of it from Punk... (Dang it, why do I write this stuff? If it comes true, they'll all blame me... )

How sweet would it be if Punk gets seriously fed up with Scott Armstrong, and after KOing R-Truth, starts beating the living s*** out of Armstrong, when suddenly..
Honestly, I would mark out of my pants. ;D
And then I would be forced to join Legacy.
