Piper was being Piper.
Was pretty funny. I love how he used to go off the handle back when I was a kid.

Piper last night > Any of his promos from Alcatraz
Seriously, I was hooked on every word...you didn't know what he was going to say next - and in an era in which every word is written for you by some Hollywood reject, it was refreshing b/c those words coming from Piper had a lot more meaning since you knew everything was "off the cuff" so to speak.

You know you're a legend when you're trusted to go on WWE TV without a script and still shine.
...knowing Piper he was handed a script by Vince and was told to go by it. I can imagine he took it and said "Sure thing boss! You can trust ME!".
He then after took the script into a sleeper hold and then did his WCW gimp dance on top of it

It was nice to see Sheiky on RAW....him going off when Hogan was mentioned was classic...I didn't catch everything he said so i have one question. Did Sheiky say, "He was going to humble Hogan," cause it sounded like that or maybe i just imagined that....

Honestly I think all the bald jokes were just TNA shots You think so? Piper has always bad fun of Hogan baldness. It nothing new. Piper did it to Hogan face in WCW on his first night and several other times turning the tender. It normal for Piper when talking about Hogan to take shots as his baldness.

I was hoping Vince would ask him if he had kids, and Piper would say "nahhhhh...not anymore...." Vince: "Why is there a bucket of chestnuts in your car?"

I don't think he was wasted, but his pop sure was. When Piper was thanking the crowd for the standing ovation, they were really silent, which made the smattering of "Roddy, Roddy" chants that much more... embarrassing?
It's like half the crowd didn't know who he was, a quarter didn't care, and the other quarter were probably 20 years old and up. :S

The crowd didn't really pop for any of the names Piper mentioned either.

I'd hate to see how much Roddy's insurance premiums are. Wouldn't that make for a great Progressive commercial?
Flo: "We offer the lowest rates of any insurance company, even if you had a couple of accidents."
Roddy: (scratching the back of his head, looking away) "Well....I've been in 7,000..."
Flo: "..."

Well, he also made fun of Mr. T, so I just think it was him referencing his past. Hogan was his all-time feud, probably. That, and if they wanted to bury TNA, they wouldn't likely of had Hogan play such a big part in the video package they showed. Speaking of video packages....for as petty as people like to think the WWE is, in that MSG video package they showed everybody (the WWE supposedly hates) in a positive light. Hogan, Savage, Warrior, Lesnar, Angle...etc It was a neat moment. There was also a long closeup of Owen Hart.
