Gonna have to give this to 2009. Seems like every couple of weeks there was a stellar movie coming out.

Iron Man and Incredible Hulk from last year makes this close, but there was an awesome new movie almost every month this year... so 2009 takes it.

For Wall-E, Iron Man, Tropic Thunder and The Wrestler, barely 08 for me, just barely.

I haven't seen all the movies of 09 but 08 was a great year for movies. So 08 right now so far. Most likely.

2009 was an atrocious year in cinema. Could probably count the movies that came out I actually liked on one hand, while 2008 was awesome.

Easily 08 imo. If only for Let The Right One In, The Wrestler, and In Bruges.
Also, im a total fanboy of Benjamin Button and The Reader, both of which arent listed.

I saw GI Joe in theaters last year, and Where the Wild Things Are, Disney's A Christmas Carrol, and Avatar this year.
2009.

For me, 2008 had The Fall and Synecdoche, New York.
For me, 2009 had Inglourious Basterds.
2008 wins hands down.

2008, mainly because there were 3 films I was looking forward to the most: Cloverfield, TDK, and Quantum of Solace. Although 2009 surprised me with District 9.

You saw GI Joe in theaters last year? Yes... Oh wait. GI Joe was this year too obviously. I meant The Dark Knight last year. I wasn't even drinking yet. I think this is the first time that I saw four movies in a year at the theaters in a loooong time.
