That show was always addicting. But I always wondered what the actual point was of the game shows in Japan that they took the footage from.

That show was always addicting. But I always wondered what the actual point was of the game shows in Japan that they took the footage from. Having seen Takeshi's Castle I can answer this. Basically you have to qualify for the final two games though one of the others. So you have to get passed the surfboard, stones, or fly on window challenges and then get into one of three challenges. Then the final one consists of driving in these little go kart things and hitting the car or plane Takeshi (The guy in the orange suit... I can't remember the name they gave him in MXC) If you did you won a million yen. They also gave out 100,000 yen prizes for those they felt showed good sportmanship/spirit/MVP type stuff.

Actually Takeshi was the guy in the purple, not the orange. Also his name on MXC was Vic Romano.

For a while I thought that the words dubbed on that show were actual words said by the Japanese people. Didn't realize it was fake until much later. Still, with or without real dubs, the show is freakin' hilarious.
