Oh hey a poll question! Ingram for me. Ingram-Suh-Gerhart-Spiller-Gilyard, as I posted earlier. Listen comahan, your graciousness and friendliness in response to all of these criticisms of your favorite team is kind of making me want to root for Texas. I'm going to need you to stop that so it is easier for me to hope the Longhorns to get destroyed in the national title game.

If I were voting my ballot would be Gerhart-Ingram-Suh-Spiller-Tebow.
I drop McCoy due to his game against Nebraska, and his damn near massive f***up at the end of the game.

Latest projection as of tonight has TCU vs. Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl. Best way to make sure another precious BCS conference team doesn't get their ass handed to them in a high profile game? Throw those two against one another. I <3 you college bowl system.

Normally I agree with you MGH, but this game also gives us the best chance for a split national title which may lead to some BCS madness. Also, don't forget Cincy who could beat Florida.

As a Texas fan and after tonight's game, I would like to say congratulations to Mr. Ingram on winning his Heisman. We look forward to seeing you in January.

Is it just me or did Texas have a weak non-conference schedule? Louisana-Monroe, UTEP, Wyoming, UCF...
Florida did too. Charleston Southern, Troy, FIU... (I'm not counting FSU, because they don't have any control over whether or not they play them. )
At least Alabama had the guts to play VA Tech on the first game of the season.
Regardless though, it's tough to win every game on a schedule no matter which teams it consists of.

Going by Brad Edwards, these were the projections at the end of today:
BCS National Championship: #1 Alabama vs. #2 Texas
Rose Bowl: Oregon vs. Ohio State
Fiesta Bowl: Boise St. vs. TCU
Orange Bowl: Iowa vs. Georgia Tech
Sugar Bowl: Cincinnati vs. Florida

What happened? Anyway, as I was saying, Arkansas backed out of their home-and-home since they signed a deal to play A&M at Jerryworld.

But before Urban left Utah, he backed out deal?

Oh how I hate the BCS.
Can anyone tell me why I should care about this system? Why are the bowls anything but glorified exhabition? Why is this the only sport without a playoff. How does this system actually make more money for schools? It makes no sense and it is why I refuse to watch

Dr. Pepper gave Big XII and SEC a LOT of money today to plaster the DP name all over the place. Same with Bowl games, a lot of free advertisement. Even the bowl games like Rose or Sugar, have the Citi or Allstate sponserships that shill out a lot for the ad space.

ESPN projecting the BCS will chicken out like a bunch of sissies will have Boise St. and TCU meet in the Fiesta bowl.
Now, I'm not a huge College Football fan, but if they want to continue to try to become as big a national force as the NFL, they need a system that will do better in deciding who the national champion is. Either force big schools to play guys like TCU/Boise/Utah so they can actually prove they're worthy or come up with some kind of playoff system.
Let's even assume Texas didn't pull that win out of their asses, you would still have Cincinnati and Boise St. undefeated sitting there with no way to prove they should be champions. The bowl system and voting was all well and good when it was more of a regional sport. But if you want to become a national sport and try to claim a "real" national champion, you need to do much better than the BCS.

Do a few of the who gives a f*** bowls as the playoff games in Dec and then keep the cotton bowl and sugar bowl around when they play it normally. It's not like they are in a hurry to play the national championship game as is. Have the petty bowls supplement the playoffs now not like anyone cares unless they like the school or there is nothing else on.

Have the petty bowls supplement the playoffs now not like anyone cares unless they like the school or there is nothing else on. Im not saying that would not work. But that would still hurt the revenue. Even a Northwestern and Rice get a kickback for playing in McDonald's Big Mac Bowl Game Extravaganza, when the conferance gets a portion too. Removing any bowl games will cause an out cry, because its less money to those schools. And even if they are in a big conference, a Baylor or Vandy wants all the money they can get.

Then Fine just create 6 more bowls to be the playoff games and have that money go to all the conferences. Listen what ever I say is that going to perfect not knowing all the finacial loops but se schools lose money on traveling to lower bowls. Happened with Rutgers last year and the probably weren't the only one. It's probably why Notre Dame isn't going to one.
It's still a stupid system and it's what keeps me from watching.

from ESPN; Blind Resumes Team 1Losses: 0 vs. Ranked Opp: 3-0 Opp win pct: .515 PPG: 39.8 Win Margain: +19.1 Team 2Losses: 0 vs. Ranked Opp: 2-0 Opp win pct: .495 PPG: 40.7 Win Margain: +28.3 Team 3Losses: 0 vs. Ranked Opp: 2-0 Opp win pct: .529 PPG: 40.7 Win Margain: +25.5 All pretty even, to me. After sleeping it off I will say I still think most of the projected BCS games would be a blast. I honestly do not think TCU could hang with Alabama, and let's be honest kids...who here would look at TCU and Boise State clashing and think "...nah, that game can't be any good"? Plus Florida and Cincinnati might be a good game too if Cincinnati can get their act together.
