When you're a 28 year old musician, what's a natural cause of death? A cocaine overdose? Jesus. A tad stereotypical with all, musicians are drug addicts comment, but it's a valid point. The only thing I can think of is a heart defect he didn't know of or a blood clot. I don't know, it's all speculation right now.

What qualifies as "Natural Causes" when someone dies at 28? Doesn't seem natural to me. RIP dude. Technically, natural causes means that a person died from a means not including suicide, accident, or murder. It is a term used until a better understanding can be found, and foul play can be ruled out immediately. Still, quite sad. I can not call myself a fan, but I do completely acknowledge the talent of the drummer.

Was never a huge fan of Sevenfold, but I saw him perform once with them, and I have to say that he was one of the greatest drummers I have ever seen. He was the lifeblood of the band too as he wrote many of the songs. Him and Synyster were far too good to be in A7X. What a shocker, this year sucks.

Just heard. What the hell? 28 years old, man. A good band has lost a great drummer and a great songwriter. This sucks. 2009 managed to squeeze another pointless, wasteful death out, just when we thought we were home and dry.
I saw them live a couple years ago, supporting Metallica. I didn't know them then, and only stuck around to watch them so I didn't lose my place in the crowd. I'm glad I did. They put on an awesome show and he was a big part of it. Damn. This ain't right. RIP, Rev.

Not a fan of the band as such but he was a really great drummer and adored by many people. Not too mention that's just too young for anybody, RIP Rev.

Another 2009 loss. I almost fear what the next few days have in store for us before the ball drops for 2010.

It's sad to see someone so young go. I used to be an A7x fan, and it's my best friend's favorite band. Having said that I can't stand it when people blame the year, it's beyond ridiculous. Yes, most of us realize that it's purely coincidence that (at least anecdotally) we've lost so many people that are famous in 2009. It's just that the coincidence really, REALLY sucks and we want it to end ASAP. Yeah I get that, but the fact is tons of famous people die every year, so what's the point. We lost some famous ones this year but is it even close to being more than any other year? Anyway condolences to his friends and family. It sucks when you lose someone so unexpectedly.

Not their biggest fan and definitely took part in some A7X bashing sometimes, but I'm still shocked about this. Great drummer taken away far too early. RIP.

I stopped listening to A7X after City of Evil but what I've heard since then showed that Rev still had major talent when it came to drumming. I hate to be a downer but considering the band has been pretty open about their indulgences, I'm fearing the worst but hoping it's something else.

Sad. But if it's drug-related (which I'm almost positive it will be), it'll be really hard for me to feel bad about it.
