Another new induction of another Cheapquel. This time for the mildly decent Fox movie Ferngully. Perhaps the last cheapquel i do for a while as well. But i do have some other inductions planned soon as well. but after the next one, i plan at least a week off before Any more inductions come. tooncrap.blogspot.com/2010/01/ferngully-2-magical-rescue.html

Oh god they made a second Ferngully? Even as a 8 year I couldn't get through 10 minutes of the FIRST one. Even with Tinkerbell's....uhhhh......free loving cousin.

I thought Ferngully 2 was being called Avatar. Shame it wasn't, would've been a far better movie than this piece of junk was.

The first movie isn't a work of art, and I'll be honest, Tim Curry saved the movie entirely, but it wasn't the worst animated film I've seen. And here's proof as to why Tim Curry freaking rules

I thought Ferngully sucked as a kid. Unless you have good songs or a good story and characters, just don't try to emulate Disney. Nobody ever learns that lesson.
Nevermind its preachy. Movies of that sort never convert anybody. They only annoy everybody but the faithful.
Nostalgia Critic/Chick's review really makes you wonder why anyone would bother, much less like, something like Ferngully.

Movies of that sort never convert anybody. They only annoy everybody but the faithful. Nostalgia Critic/Chick's review really makes you wonder why anyone would bother, much less like, something like Ferngully. It still didn't feel nearly as preachy as most of the "Scare Straight" pieces of media that were around at the same time. Remember Captain Planet? That was the definition of preachy. Even going outside of the norm of environmental awareness, and going into shit that really has no point in the show, like Aids, gang wars, and because American kids could give a damn, the heated conflict between Protestant and Catholic Irishmen. Ferngully at least had a message (Though preachy) that made some sense in protecting the rainforest. and really, I thought it at least flowed and worked far better than most of the movies I've reviewed so far. Now Ferngully 2 didn't push the preachiness at all. It felt more like a lame gutting of what was essentially Rescuers Down Under.
