Wow. That would be pretty cool. I saw Cornell a couple years ago. It was pretty much all S.G. stuff.
He still has his pipes.

Cool! Hopefully they still got it.
Cornell's solo career is one of the biggest head scratchers of modern music. It should have been great but it..............isn't. The hell?

I'm not surprized by this after almost hip hop album last year.
Cornell is one my rock heros but I think he kinda thinks will his wallet sometimes....
Soundgarden breaks up, releases a solo album to mixed reviews, jumps on the chance to join a "supergroup" releases three albums, that band breaks up, has a decent solo hit with a theme to Bond movie, releases solo album nobody notistes, jumps on the chance to make a hip hop album, everone laughs at him.
I knew a Soundgarden reunion was the only thing he had left.

Well, this is pretty awesome news. Here's hoping Chris isn't a control freak this time around.

I've pretty much been wanting Soundgarden to get back together since they broke up. Even though he did pretty well with Audioslave, Cornell just doesn't sound right to me without the classic Soundgarden sound backing him up.

As much as Cornell deserves credit for the success of Soundgarden, make no mistake, without Kim Thayil that band goes nowhere.
Just throwing that out there.

Isn't Matt Cameron in Pearl jam still?
Maybe PJ could get Dave Abruzennnzezeee back to replace Cameron.

Isn't Matt Cameron in Pearl jam still? That was my concern. Cornell said the only way this would happen would be to get all the "original members" (apparently this doesn't include Hiro Yamamoto, Jason Everman, or Scott Sundquist), and that means stealing Matty away from Pearl Jam. I'm not entirely happy about that. You'd have a better chance of getting PJ to hire Dave Grohl for drums. Far as I know, PJ parted rather badly with Dave Abru-whatever. And Dave Krusen. And Jack Irons. Jed Shaffer ~Pearl Jam -- the only difference between their drummer revolving door and Spinal Tap's is the lack of spontaneous human combustion.

These guys broke up way to soon and i'm curious to hear what they can come up with.I'd love to see them go back to doing Badmotorfinger-type stuff but that's probably expecting too much.

It's good they're getting back together, or we'd have to suffer through Cornell's Polka and Zydeco albums.

Could someone post a reason for me to like them? The only song of theirs I know is Black Hole Sun, which sounds like it's trying to be deep and fails at doing so.
