That's how the show ends now, in re-runs... but I'm positive that the original broadcast had the ending I'm thinking of.
They're all at the Swamp, and Burns is saying that the General really was a good guy... Hawk, Trap and Henry all start singing that song again, then start dancing around the pole and then out the door... while Frank is cleaning his boots with a brush, and as they start leaving, Frank is scrubbing his boots in time with the song...

Love M*A*S*H*. However, the film was greatly superior to the series. The series, however, holds it's own just fine.
EDIT: Also, don't sing the theme song in public buildings. For whatever reason, it never ends well. Evidently, people don't recall the irony of Suicide Is Painless from the film. Hell, most people don't even recall that there was a film prior to the series.

I honestly can't think of more then a couple of episodes of MASH that I didn't like. In fact there's only one episode of MASH that I dislike and that's the one where Hawkeye and BJ refuse to shower untill Charles stops playing his french horn. Every other episode is great though I can't watch Perchance to Dream because it quite frankly creeps me out.
I think my favourite episode however might be Tuttle.

I know that ending exists. Either it was on the show when FX ran re-runs or some other re-run. I also think that the sequence at the end of Abyssinia, Henry where the announcer says farewell to Henry to a montage of Henry's most memorable scenes includes the dance around the Swamp.
