Transformers 2 was fine, it was a mindless action film about giant robots hitting each other. It wasn't meant to be anything more. Except it wasn't about giant robots, it was about dogs humping, a mad women on weed, Shia Le Beouf getting seduced by a Species rip off, John Turturro in his underwear, robots saying ass and p****. Where was the fighting exactly?

I wouldn't call Transformers 2 the worst movie of the year, but I didn't like it. I'll admit to enjoying the last half hour, but the first two hours were horrendous. It felt like Shia LeBeouf goes to college more than it did a Transformers movie. And I don't think his mother getting high was needed (nor should it have been that long).
If it wasn't for the last half hour, my vote might have went to this.
Also, I almost voted for Funny People. As others have mentioned, no comedy, no drama and no likable characters made for a terrible 2+ hours (which felt like 5).

How is Watchmen even on the list?
I guess people on this forum are real hardcore squid fans.

I loved "Funny People," and I swear I'm the only person in the world that got it. I've heard the "it wasn't funny at all" complaint a billion times, but that's exactly the problem - it wasn't MEANT to be a comedy. I thought it was quite clear from the trailers that the main plot point was Sandler's character having cancer (or some other life-threatening disease). I wasn't really expecting a typical Apatow comedy.

Obsessed - horrible Fatal Attraction ripoff that proves once and for all that Beyonce should never be in front of a camera without a mic in her hand.
Saw Alvin and the Chipmunks: the Squeakquel on the weekend. When a 5 year old who loved the first movie turns to you and says 'this movie is boring' you know it's bad.
I thought Watchmen was alright, though the soundtrack impressed me more that the movie itself

How is Watchmen even on the list? I guess people on this forum are real hardcore squid fans. How? Because it sucked? I respect your opinion, but I have to disagree. IGN labeled WATCHMEN as one of the biggest disappointments of the past year, and if ANYTHING, that's the tag that needs to be applied to it. It was far from a POS on the level of TRANSFORMERS 2 or anything else Bay was involved in....it simply disappointed a lot of people. You think it sucked. Fine. I think, and this is one man's opinion, but I think it is THE closest, most loyal adaptations of that work we are ever likely to get in our lifetimes. Think about it like this: It could have turned out like WOLVERINE. Or it COULD have been like CATWOMAN. In fact, it could have been like FANTASTIC FOUR. Each and every one of which were simply soulless cash ins that didn't even ATTEMPT to remain loyal to the characters or mythos of their respective worlds. IMO, those movies, each and every last one of them, sucked ass. But there are people who love them, and hey, more power to them. I'm just saying WATCHMEN, even if it by all rights NEVER should have been attempted, was a decent attempt and was, again IMO, a good film.

Yeah, because you probably would have such a horrid time reading it, because you seem determined to hate anything and everything associated with it. I love blind hate. I just LOVE it.

You said that the movie (Which I absolutely hated) was very much like the graphic novel. So wouldn't it make sense that I'd hate the graphic novel just as much as I hated the stupid movie? I love how my hate is blind because I happen to hate something you like. Thanks for not directly saying my opinion doesnt mean shit and going the alternative route of saying that but doing it just okay enough to not break any rules.

Anyway, we're missing the real point here, which is that I don't see ONE Friedberg/Seltzer movie on that list, and I think people can universally agree that THOSE aren't very good at all.

The only critically rejected movie I saw this year was Wolverine : Orgins and I really like it.
I'm pretty picky about what i watch....so i rarely see anything I don't at least like a little.

It was a good popcorn action film, a lot better than people give it credit for. Worse film of the year for me is a toss up between Paul Blart and Watchmen.

I think the problem with Watchmen was it perhaps stayed so faithful to its original material that it didn't really acheive anything original. Every good film needs to have something to say and all Watchmen appeared to say was "isn't the graphic novel of Watchmen great", thats all well and good but I've read the graphic novel and now I've payed to see the film and I want something different. Watchmen was by no means a disaster it had a good soundtrack, enjoyable cast and was in parts visually stunning, it was just frankly a little underwhelming.
