The important question is... Is she hot/cute?

you did nothing wrong. anyone who does stupid tests like that are dumb This, given that it wasn't like someone else said, in that she just isn't that into you. Still sucks that she can't even bother to respond, either way. I'm sorry she's being like that

Either she is playing games with you about paying the bill for supper. Or she isn't that interested in you. You should not worry about it and leave her alone for a week or two then try again. If she ignores you then you have your answer.

The important question is... Is she hot/cute? Yes very hot. In regards to those that say I texted too soon I usually don't do that. Usually I don't text or call anyone at all and make them pursue me. Or else I'll wait a few days or a week. I've heard a lot that girl's don't think I'm that into them and need more attention. I really liked this one so told myself I wouldn't screw it up so sent a text the past 2 days. The date did end with saying we'd go out again and a hug. I'll wait like a week and text again... if no answer forget about it.

I really doubt it was a game or whatever. She drove 45 minutes away so she must see something in the guy to drive that far out to go to dinner.
Secondly, you should have paid. I wouldn't use the word hate, but I dislike women who want to pay for their own stuff when we're on a date or a movie, or whatever. It makes us look...inferior or something, like we're too cheap to pay for a meal. I wouldn't say you did anything wrong, my thing is, you should have paid regardless of what she told you. It's just the thing to do.

Sounds like she was pretty insistant about paying, you offered then asked if she was sure so she had the chance to back down. And if it was some asinine test then sounds like she'd just be more hassles and headaches down the line. Not worth overthinking/beating yourself up about it at all. I think you're right to wait a week or so now for her move. Hope it works out for you. Women, especially ones that are hot and know it, can really mess with your mind. But only if you let them.

Might be that she just sucks at keeping in touch with people. Like someone said, she drove 45 minutes to see you, so you are likely worth her time by her estimation. Give it a couple of days.

No I was the one that drove 45 minutes. Gonna text her mid next week and be like "How is your day going? When do you want to cash in that dinner I owe you." I date a lot and usually never initiate contact after, it's either they contact me or they don't. First time in a long time I've actually cared what someone thought of me so gonna put in a little effort. If the next text goes unanswered there's my answer. In the meantime got a date with someone else lined up tomorrow. Figure if I keep my options open I won't come off as desperate for this one.

Yup, you're on a date it's ALL a test. I went out with this gal, I dunno month ago or so...she started asking me questions that frankly weren't important, couldn't be answered as the hypotheticals' they were posed as and were all trap doors. "If you got a girl pregnant, would you marry her or...." "Yes." "Really?" "Sure." Strange look from her. "Fine, no." "Really?" "Whatever the right answer is." Going by the thread you made, you have a girlfriend now at least. I guess you have to of passed someone's test. I did what now? How drunk was I? I don't have a girlfriend to my knowledge..... If it's the thread I'm thinking of...that's the girl I'm talking about in what you quoted.

Sorry, I'm still sort of hungover, sleep wise(I don't drink, so not that kind.)

She probably paid out of pity.

Sorry, guy. Like someone else said, every first date with a girl is a test. And don't believe some of the bunk you're being fed about how you should feel fortunate because you don't want to have a girl who's going to play games. They ALL play games. You want a girl, you gotta play the game. It's never going to be simple. Look at it this way. You failed this test, but you can always pass another one.
Now let's talk about why you failed. Let me start out by saying that your failure has nothing to do with money. She didn't fail you because she had to spend a few dollars. Believe it or not, she was not that shallow. No. She failed you because you came off like a pushover. Believe me, a pushover is the last thing a woman wants. I'm sure you've heard that "nice guys" never get the girl, or maybe you've had that experience yourself. But that's a misnomer. It's pushovers that never get the girl. She wanted you to insisit harder than she did. She wanted you to stick to your guns. Please excuse the expression, but the bottom line is she wanted you to be a man. I'm not saying you're not a man. In fact, you did the logical thing in this situation, so you're very MUCH a man. But in her eyes, you caved so you looked like a pushover.
I think this one is over, but you may still have a bit of a chance. If you plan on texting her again, DO NOT mention that "you owe her a dinner." That will only exacerbate your problem. Remember this for future dates (whether with her or without her). It wasn't about the money. The discussion could have been about which Muppett is the coolest. Don't cave. Women just plain don't like pushovers. Period.

YOU LET HER PAY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!? Is that why you still haven't called me? Look, I forgot my wallet!! I said I would get the next one! I'm not working right now! My cat is really sick! I was mugged before I got to the restaurant! I spent all my money on that prostitute! Um, forget that last one.

While waiting for a table on a first date, I told her she was going to have to pay since I didn't have any money. The look on her face was priceless, but I told her I was only kidding after 10-15 seconds.
Been married almost three years now.

Had a date with another one tonight and it went way better. The flow of conversation was much better than with the other. The other one is 8 years younger and a tad hotter but I'm gonna just cut my losses on that one and focus on this one. Plus she lives like 5 minutes away not 45 like the other one so much better odds of it working out. And yes before the waiter laid down the check this time I grabbed it and handed my card. Maybe things happen for a reason if this is the one that's meant to be....
