I need a little advice guys. I've been pondering getting a Wii in the After-Christmas/New Year sales, and I found a decent deal at JB Hi-Fi: Wii Console, Wiimote, Wii Sports and Mario Kart for $400 Australian. To those who own a Wii, is there enough decent games for Wii to justify buying the console?

Well, it depends on what games YOU like. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Tenchu: Shadow Assassins, No More Heroes, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, and all the Nintendo games are all good in my opinion but that's just me.

I'd recommend getting a few Nunchucks, as it makes Mario Kart MUCH easier to play (it's very difficult to play with the "Wii-l".
However, there are a lot of decent games, but the majority are good for multiplayer and little else.
Pretty much anything with the word "Mario" is going to be fun.
Super Paper Mario is a satirical story (that I loved, I laughed throughout the entire game), fun overall game that is worth a "used" price (it should be much cheaper now that it has been out a few years)
New Super Mario Bros Wii has gotten glowing reviews.
Animal Crossing if you have a wife/girlfriend/female. I played it every day, but to women, it's crack.
Mario Baseball is really an unsung hero. No one EVER talks about it, but I used to have tournaments, and it was incredibly fun.
Godfather is a good sandbox game that will occupy a weekend or so.
Resident Evil 4 Wii, Dark Chronicles, and the other one are all fun.
There are other games I'm sure others will talk about. I just used mine for "once in a while fun with friends". On it's own, it's not really worth it, but if you have friends over, it's great fun.

As its been said. It depends on the kind of games you like.
Punch Out Wii is really fun. Okami is a really great rpg. And if you have some friends to play with, you cant go wrong with Super Smash Bros Brawl or Mario Kart Wii.

Its not worth buying if you loathe motion controls but if you dont mind them then its worth it. I refuse to buy a Wii because very few games let you use the classic controller/traditional controls and Im not a fan of the Wiimote/motion controls. Its also pretty dumb you dont plug the classic controller into the console, you plug it into the Wiimote. Aye carumba!

No not really. While it has some good games it doesn't have anywhere near the library of games the PS3 and 360 has.

Make sure you have a lot of space wherever you set the Wii up because you'll need it for the motion control.
Personally, I said no for that reason. I get enough exercise jumping up and down when button mashing goes wrong.

It's a solid system with a number of very good exclusives, but its main weakness is that it lacks the third party support of the other systems. However, it does has a huge advantage over the other two when it comes to offline multiplayer, so I would recommend it on those grounds if you don't mind paying for extra controllers.

How the hell does it have an Offline Multiplayer advantage?

Depends. If you already have a 360 and/or PS3, it can be worth it. Having just the Wii is incredibly frustrating. Trust me.

Wii has quite a number of great games, without evening getting into the awesomeness on the Virtual Console (which is admittedly lacking some important things - seriously, just change the damn enemy's sprite in Earthbound or something so you can release it, Nintendo). Let's see...
Super Mario Galaxy New Super Mario Bros. Wii No More Heroes Super Paper Mario Super Smash Bros. Brawl Animal Crossing: City Folk Mario Kart Wii
Plus plenty of others probably not coming to mind at the moment. Plus it's got what I consider easily my most eagerly awaited game for this year in Super Mario Galaxy 2.

It all depends on what kind of gaming experience you are looking for. I've played one, and it can be kind of fun, but I prefer the other consoles over the long run.

Honestly?
No, not really. Maybe I'm now considered in the "Hardcore Gamer" niche of the market, but the games are insultingly easy and aimed directly at the casual market almost exclusively. The motion controllers really hasn't been integrated as well as you would've hoped and I often found myself going back to the Gamecube controller out of frustration. I'm getting a ton more our of my PS3 and Nintendo DS and would highly recommend those long before I suggested the Wii, and I consider myself a Nintendo fanboy.
