Honestly? No, not really. Maybe I'm now considered in the "Hardcore Gamer" niche of the market, but the games are insultingly easy and aimed directly at the casual market almost exclusively. I remember when games were aimed at everyone

Bill Gates called it "the only true next-gen console." It innovated when the others did not.
If you're worried about motion controls, you'll be in trouble within the next decade. Times are a-changin'.

I remember when games were aimed at everyone I hate using those terms, but its the only way I can explain as to how I can just go through games without even finding any level of difficulty at all. I certainly don't game that much (maybe 5 hours a week on average), but any Wii game I've bought (usually a 1st party game), I have beat in a week or two (still averaging 5 hours or so of playing). Either I've become the greatest video game player ever, or Nintendo's dumbed its games down way too much. In fact, I find Mario Kart Wii nearly unplayable because of the rubber band AI they built into it.

That said, Mario Kart Wii is so broken it isn't funny.

Times are a-changin'. That's fine and dandy, but motion controls should mean something more than spastically flailing your arms to make your character do something that's been tacked on so they can put a "Motion Control!" sticker on the box. It just seems like Nintendo was innovative with the system and then just decided to go the "Shovelware" route with the games. The Gamecube library is better than the Wii's library at this point in time.

If you have people who you can regularly play with I'd highly recommend it. I bought a PS2 and barely bought/played any games for it, and I find myself more and more a PC only person. I have a roommate though and between being able to play Old School NES/SNES games on it and playing Wii Sports Resort with the roomie its worth it.

The Wii is worth it just to play Super Mario RPG on the VC.
I consider Metroid Trilogy the greatest bonus to that in the history of our sport.

I have it, I like it, I have a nice library of games for it.
Problem is, I don't blame games anywhere nearly as much as I used to even about four years ago, so I feel like I'm wasting some of what I have, but I still love to make good use out of the Virtual Console and WiiWare games, well worthwhile.

Honestly, looking at the 8 games on the first row of my Wii Tower, I could only see your description of motion control on No More Heroes - and even that is reaching. For the record, the first row are not the best games, just the most recent ones purchased: New Super Mario Bros. Wii Mario Kart Wii (only exception to recent buys, as my girlfriend must have put it there...not sure why) Super Smash Bros. Brawl Wario Land: Shake It! No More Heroes Okami (which to be honest, I have yet to play for this console) The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return A Boy and His Blob These are not games that one must play by flailing their arms.

Like someone else said, I love it as a secondary console but I don't think I'd want it if it was our only one.

It's a decent system. Just not alone. It makes a good complimentary system or you just can't live without Nintendo's 1st party games.
Otherwise, no.
Edit: You know what? On second thought, you should probably avoid it all together unless you MUST play Nintendo games. Like Backlund said, the GC's library is MUCH better than the Wii's at this point and it doesn't look like 3rd party is gonna get any better anytime soon.
