Grendel, with all the award ceremonies you've seen, you're a stronger guy than most to put up with that much excrement.

Ugh, not a fan. Mostly because she's the exact kind of chick that brags about how 'hardcore' she is, but ends up throwing up all over my porch whenever we throw a party. Jeff Foxworthy used to say that whenever a chick was dancing by herself, singing like that before 7 in the evening, she'd be naked in 45 minutes. Once this chick's career tapers off (in about 2 weeks, hopefully), she'll be doing Playboy, or "acting" to restore her career. I thought the next major "wave" of music was supposed to be indie rock. What ever happened to that? Too much work. They would have to play and record at least three instruments. This way, they can make all the music on one of those old Casio keyboards from the 80s and then get a drunk chick to lip sync the lyrics while a band that kind of looks like a really wealthy version of a high school punk band pantomimes playing instruments. Simple and effective.

I stopped watching music awards shows after the Metallica snub for the most part, but I did catch the Axl and Izzy meltdown on that one awards show, The American Music awards or something like that? Swearing live, that was snorking great. And I stopped watching The Oscars after the Denzel Washington/Halle Berry awards. I heard about the Pantera snub on the radio, as one of the local djs was beside himself that Pantera lost. He even referenced the Metallica snub on his rant. He was one of my favorite djs before he got let go by the station. Anyway, Cracked has a great article on Grammy snubs, and some are even worse than this. I'm too lazy to look for the article, but if you do some digging on their website I'm sure you could find it.

I don't even know how publishers and award givers can completely snork up a genre that isn't that hard to tell the difference between. Metal and Rock and then pop. It isn't that hard. *sighs* Oh well, when's the MTV music awards this year, I'm sure Kesha will be winning best new prog/metal act...
