Just to review the ground rules on this. In telelvision, there is a concept called a Lead-In, where the Audiance from one popular show sticks around to watch the next show. The Best Example would be the 90s NBC line-up, where random sitcoms (Usually about women working in entertainment and living in New York) where always placed between Friends, Seinfeld, and ER. They would garner amazing ratings because nobody wanted to change the channel, and then when moved to their own night, would face cancelation within a year. The Superbowl is the highest rated program on American Television, and most of the audiance will stick around to watch whatever is on next. With this hour, you can either push one of your existing shows, I think the Office did an hourlong special last year, or debut a new show, like what Fox did with Family Guy ten years ago, and ideally, get most of the Super Bowl Audiance to watch it. The thinking is, you'll pick up new fans. The point isn't to generate ratings, nothing you can do can top the Superbowl, the point is to get them to watch your network.
