Rumor is Tom Cable may be gone as soon as today for wanting someone other than JaMarcus Russell as his QB. The guy was the worst starting QB this season, then became the worst back-up QB (see games vs Washington and Baltimore). It's like someone is beating me to death here.

According to NFL Network's Mike Lombardi, Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer is a strong candidate to emerge as the favorite for the Bills' head coaching vacancy.

ESPN says that Bill Cower won't coach in 2010 I think a lot of that has to do with the Carolina job not being open....

BobGlauber The Bill Sheridan era has ended ... mercifully. Giants fire defensive coordinator after just one season.

Mike Lombardi of the National Football Post calls Giants OC Kevin Gilbride and ex-Giants head coach Jim Fassel potentially "the two leading candidates" for the Raiders coaching job should Tom Cable be fired.

How long has Fassell tried to get that job? He still won't get it. Gilbride leaving the Giants might make some fans happy.

If they fire Cable and have Russell at starter next year, that's a joke. As a fan of the team that holds the Raiders first round pick in 2011, I wholeheartly support this idea. ;D

Just saw a clip of Rex Ryan from either the postgame or today saying "No one in this organization thought we were done."
I remember one guy in the organization saying they were done 2 weeks ago. His name is Rex Ryan.

The only surprise is that he lasted the entire season. Yep, as a Skins fan I must say that I'm happy to see him go. Now, we need to go outside the usual suspects for a new head coach. I know everyone is thinking big name, why not go for a guy who you could gamble on, and come up aces. This team is so down on there luck they need to make something happen and taking a risk like that might be the first step. I think that you forget why Zorn was your team's coach. Your team did what you advocate and took a chance on making a successful QB coach as your their Offensive coordinator. He got promoted to head coach because Snyder couldn't get anyone else to be head coach. Do you think anyone worth getting is going to be interested in taking that job after the way that Snyder treated Zorn this past year? No one who has any options would willingly tolerate that kind of crap. Best of luck.

Oh Please Please Please for all that is good and holy make this happen. Schotty JR is worthless. When the running game is going he wants to pass, when the passing game is going he wants to run. As long as we don't promote Callahan for some insane reason I'm fine with him going to the Bills and making their Offense even worse for the next 1-3 seasons.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Lovie Smith "is expected" to return for his seventh season as Bears head coach in 2010.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Cardinals are "not optimistic" about Anquan Boldin's (ankle, knee) chances of playing in Sunday's Divisional Round game against the Packers.
The Bucs have informed head coach Raheem Morris that he will be retained in 2010.

Profootballtalk.com is "hearing" that the Bears will fire offensive coordinator Ron Turner.
The rest of Chicago's offensive staff, particularly QBs coach Pep Hamilton, is in danger. PFT also suggests that Bears head coach Lovie Smith's defensive playcalling duties could be passed on to line coach Rod Marinelli.

They haven't got the money to fire Lovie Bear apparently because he has a massive buy out clause if they were to give him the boot. Firing the people around him (Ron Rivera anyone?) is not the answer. Fire the main man and start again.
Oh well, enjoy another year of Lovie ball Bears fans.

Yea that sucks, thirty is no age for anybody to go. Well it's that time of year again. I think during these festive periods we should all look at our favorite players and what they can do to bring a championship to our cities. How about it Brett? ...same time this year then?
