I remember when Flobots came out with their last record and I heard "Handlebars" and thought it was a pretty rad tune. They played the album all the time at work and I liked it until one day I really listened to the lyrics and they came off really preachy and self satisfied. Then I saw them on TV and they were the biggest dweebs I've ever seen, especially the main rapper guy who's got a face made for slapping. Now I can really give two hoots about that band.
Any others?

I thought The Darkness were a parody band when I first heard 'Growing On Me' and quite liked it.
Then I realised they were serious, and the dislike set in quickly.

Innerpartysystem. One of those, "I like the single (Don't Stop), but the rest of the album blows so much that it sticks out" type bands.

I liked Sublime for a short time until my bro started playing them all the time in the car because of his gf at the time. I still don't care to listen to 40 oz of Freedom. I don't really hate them and I definitely see the appeal. It's basically like taking a food you don't mind and then making you eat it every day for year. You're either going to like it or grow numb to it.
The whole ordeal is still a joke to my friends. One friend still recalls the trip we made to Domino's during a Dreamcast Launch Party where I managed to slip the tape out and replace it with DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince.
I do enjoy the Snoop Dogg remix of "Doin' Time".
