I feel like this is one story that needs to be told.
My mother told me a few weeks ago that she bought me The Wrestler "and some boxing movie" on dvd. So I sit and anxiously await for Christmas.
So Christmas morning, I rip open the wrapping paper and find...
The Wrestler from the 70's with Ed Asner, Verne Gagne "and all of the top wrestling stars". It was in a 2-pack with some generic movie called The Boxer.
My jaw dropped, and not in a good way either. :-)

Remember...it's the thought that counts? I got soap once when I was 9, so yeah I know how to put a happy face on any gift.

Ed Asner topless > Mickey Rourke buying steroids Plus, Dusty Rhodes cameo > R-Truth cameo. Not that I have any problems with R-Truth, but come on, it's the Dream.

Where did she find that two pack?

I like both "The Wrestler"'s.
But neither are as good of a movie about a wrestler as "The One and Only"

The Wrestler with Verne Gagne really is a great time capsule for the wrestling scene of the 1970s. You get the idea that pro wrestling was treated as a legit, serious sport with many diverse personalities, when wrestling was mostly dominated by pale, fat white guys that could brawl. You even get a glimpse of Vince Sr. A fascinating and fun movie, imo.
But dammit, I NEVER wanted to see Ed Asner clad only in a towel...
And whoever made that video will burn in Hell for all eternity. I will personally see to it after I make an appointment with a shrink.

I like the 70s The Wrestler movie. It's not fantastic or anything, but its kinda enjoyable.

I got that movie from a dollar store when I was last in New Jersey, backed with some baseball movie - looking forward to watching it.
Did get the real The Wrestler for Christmas, too.
