...that you feel like you're the only person who appreciates or even remembers/knows about them. What are some of yours?
I was inspired to start this topic when randomly thinking of Formula 1: Built to Win on the NES. It's kind of a staple of my childhood. I dunno why, it's not that special of a racer or anything, but I still think it's one of the best on the NES. I love the soundtrack too, despite it mostly being really beepy.
Anyone else actually played/enjoyed this?

It may sound daft but I think Eternal Darkness
Yes it's been praised, but due to it being ONLY on the Gamecube alot of people don't know what it is and how great it is.

Yeah, I've heard loads of good about it, but never actually got around to playing it myself. I'd like to pick it up someday, but I dunno how much it runs these days. It's always seemed awesome, though.

Outrun 2019?
N2O: Nitrous Oxide
MERCS
Ghostbusters (Genesis)
Rumble Racing
PS the game you posted befuddles me simply because of the Formula 1 name but no um...Formula 1 racing going on. Looks like something I'd have enjoyed though.
Nevermind, I see what's up. It's like early Gran Turismo, it starts you off in a lower class car and makes you work up to the F1 car.

And yeah, F1 Built to Win is definitely a little weird. It does have an F1 car in it, but it by no means is F1 centric. I'm not entirely sure why they named it that, but whatever.

Shatterhand! for the NES. Like Megaman except you punch things f*** yes. I haven't gotten very far in it anytime that I've played, but what little I have played was insane amounts of fun.

Ghostbusters was pretty sweet.
I'd like to bring up Arcanum on the PC, fantastic dungeon crawler RPG with a really good storyline and lots of good choices to make.

I guess this counts:
Tokyo Xtreme Racer, Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2, Tokyo Xtreme Racer: Zero, and Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3.

Vib Ribbon It was a japanese game for the Playstation where a rabbit would walk along a line to a song. And when you reached certain parts there would be a shape which would require you to tap a button which would make the rabbit dance along the shape. Sortof like Dance Dance Revolution or Parappa the Rapper style of gameplay.
But what made this game really cool was you could put in your own cd's and play vib ribbon to your favourite soundtracks. Here is an example with System of a Downs "Zelda theme"

Frequency & Amplitude
Without both these games you'd never get the craze known as Guitar Hero and Rock Band

Here is an example with System of a Downs "Zelda theme" Which goes to show that there's no technological reason why you shouldn't be able to use your own music for games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band, but being forced to buy additional tracks is too big a cash cow.

The Darkness on PS3. For an FPS, it was inventive, fun, and violent as all hell, and the pleasure to be derived from sending a demonic snake to eat your enemy's heart CANNOT be overstated.

I will go to the grave saying that Snake's Revenge is a good game. The music, the graphics, the gameplay were all fantastic. It's like what the NES Metal Gear should have been.

It got a sequel but I feel is not loved by many. I am talking about Loaded for the PSX. That game was awesome.
Also, Adventures in the Magic Kingdom for the NES. Dunno why, but I enjoy that game a whole lot.

Unknown or Underappreciated games. Plenty of people could beat me halfway around the universe on this, but I'll give it a shot anyway.
-Chippoke Ralph no Daibouken ("Adventures of Little Ralph") awesome awesome AWESOME old-school-style tribute to 8-bit action games, but with contemporary graphics. Old PS1 game with a Japanese PSN release. Make a Japanese PSN account and download it.
-Makai Kingdom. The most hated of NIS's SRPGs, because of its "Cut and Paste" feel. But it's much more streamlined than Disgaea, La Pucelle, or Phantom Brave, so you never feel like you're just dragging your feet.
-Sengoku BASARA. Capcom's "stylish" take on a Samurai Warriors style game, at first I liked Samurai Warriors better, but then I felt like BASARA flows more naturally. Very excited that the 3rd game is apparently getting a US PS3 release.
-Ys 1&2 (DS). Hardcores love the TG-CD version, and appreciate the "Eternal" versions for PC, but typically crap on the DS version for its 3D backgrounds and use of an attack button. It was the DS version that really got me to appreciate Ys 1, and I actually played the DS and PC versions simultaneously.
-Power Instinct & Power Instinct 2 : Games from the earlier days of fighting, actually quite a bit of fun and had more to them than most other imitators at the time (I was especially impressed when I learned that you could crouch to cancel out of a forward hop early) But it wasn't SF, and it wasn't MK, so nobody cared.
-Asuka 120% Burning Fest. FINAL. This is probably a surprise coming from me, with my fairly well known distaste for loli and fanservice, but Asuka 120 Final is one of the more surprising fighters on the PS1, with a 'clash' system and attacks that link together easily, making it so combos aren't just an elite-level skill.
-Silent Bomber. Not just a Bomberman clone, but a darker single player game that involves more platforming skills (to an extent) and faster action.
-Gungage. Still my favorite 3rd person shooter, and classic Konami, even if the characters aren't going to garner any fans.
Nothing on the NES, SNES, or Genesis really seems Obscure to me at all, oddly.
