en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jagged_Little_PillI just re-listened to this album for the first time in about 6 years, and I was amazed at how well it's held up. I liked it when it was released in 1995, and I still think it's a great album. One of the best of the 90's. Everything from the melodies, to the production, to the lyrics, to Alanis' singing just works for me. Anyone else like it?

I loved this album then, still do now. Alanis is underrated.

Great album from someone who was so young at the time. Not really my type of music but I like the album a lot.

Probably her only good album, in my opinion, but still very good from top to bottom.

Her best album, in my opinion. Came out with the right tunes for the right time. Everything since then has been a downward spiral. {Spoiler}And to think, the inspiration for such a great, deep "woman scorned" song was...Dave Coulier....Dave Coulier....who breaks out into Popeye and Bullwinkle impressions unprovoked.

Yeah this is one of those albums that's pretty stacked with good cuts. Pretty much everything on there is listenable.

Yeah, this album is f***ing incredible. Still her best, though the rest of her work is fantastic too (disregarding her first two albums. They totally don't count.)
I love Alanis.

I like it because it was an album filled with little stories, and also told a bigger story, you know not many albums are like that anymore.
It's basically about this young women, being treated like crap by her boyfriends, growing up with pushy parents, dealing with her religous issues, getting treated badly by business associates, and trying to make to make it in the big city, and ultimately she decides not going to take it anymore and finds strength.

I was a music snob when I bought the album in either '95 or '96 (don't remember which) so I didn't really like Hand in My Pocket for some stupid reason, and I didn't like You Learn because I thought it was too repetitive. Looking back, though, I was, as I said, a snobby kid; the album is really good.

Let's just say that some of the lyrics hit close to home, and leave it at that"

I'd like to mention that her followup album "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" is just as good as Jagged to me, so if you havn't heard that album, it's well worth picking up.

Looking back, though, I was, as I said, a snobby kid; the album is really good. I think it would be fair to say though that some of the songs were stronger than others. Like, it's just my opinion, but I think "You Oughta Know" for example is very distinctive, where you hear and go "that's gotta be Alanis Morissette". There are some others like "You Learn" where it's a nice enough song but a little on the generic side, like it could be by any number of female pop singers.

Probably her only good album, in my opinion, but still very good from top to bottom. 21 isn't really that young considering she's been in show business since she was 12

Right Through You is my favorite song on that album. I like the entire thing but I love that song.

Yeah, this album was her best work, which to me really is saying something. The thing that I found impressive is that the 6 singles, while all still very good themselves, are the weakest songs on the album. It deserves to be considered one of the best albums ever, and it easily was the best album to be produced in the 90's.
