(Taken from Samuel L Jackson's Saturday Night Live Monologue)
At the top of my list: "Continue to kick ass" And then I hope to "Be as bad as I know I can be" Also, to "Really put it out there, and by it I mean Sammy's mojo" In addition, I plan to "Give it as good as I get it" "Be all that and more" and "Lose my shyness, vis a vis the rocket in my pocket" Plus, I plan to "Work my voodoo on the lady fans" "Take a thorn out of some cat's paw." and "Build a shrine to my own bad ass" Then, it's time to "Give the demons what for" "Spare the rod and spoil the face" and "Continue to kick ass" After which, I'll "Show the bad men what it's all about" "Release a dove from a ghetto rooftop" and "Cradle a newborn baby in the ruins of a church" Finally, this year, I will "Stick it to all the suckas" and I'm gonna "Show the man that I mean business" ..and I'm gonna "Take a computer class."

Went on a date with the most awesome girl I've ever met the other day. My new year's resolution is to make a solid effort to pursue this one and make her be the one.

1) Lose weight, so that I can look how I used to (not "ripped to shreds," but definitely "in shape." No six-pack, but respectable abs.) 2) Quit smoking ... again, and for good. 3) Learn how to pace myself when drinking (I tend to get spinny and queasy too soon; perhaps drinking altogether should be cut waaaaay back...) 4) Take some physical-fitness classes, i.e. Muay Thai/Thai boxing or something similar, because I've always wanted to, ever since I was a little kid, take a martial arts class and now that I'm almost 30, why the hell not? 5) Go to college (and encourage my wife to go back/get re-certified in cosmetology) and start my career; also part of this is to finish the "screenplay" I started and possibly start filming it. 6) Audition for more plays; I'm pretty sure I was close to getting a part in my first audition, but the only way to actually make it is to keep trying, eh? 7) Get a "real job," make some better money, and start owning rather than renting. I dunno ... seven is kind of a weird number to settle on, but if I can do half of them (yes, 3 1/2 of them...) I'll be satisfied.

My two big ones are to get to the gym more often or just exercise more, and to be more mature and less profane. I've noticed lately that most of the profanity used by my friends and peers usually has no bearing on the situation, and I don't want to fall in to that category. I'm a big fan of profanity when it's used correctly, but people calling everything "f***ing gay" is getting annoying and immature, not to mention offensive.

Write a journal/blog everyday, Micheal Palin kinda inspired me to start writing a journal because of the joy he spoke of when he reread them and the memories returned. I'm writing it now and learning a important thing about me, I procastinate a lot!

I make a conscious effort not to make resolutions because they tend to not come true for me. But here are some things that I'd like to do this year:
Get a new job/career. Get a new car. Have my blog get wider exposure.
Also, start dating and get in shape but that pretty much correlates to me having more money, hence getting a new job.

In case anyone deals with cynics who claim you shouldn't make them because you never keep them. Well, here's the response. What these resolutions are, is using the oppurtunity of the New Year to evauluate the course of one's life, and amend it where needed. Didn't Plato say, that a life unexamined isn't worth living? If that doesn't work, then the next proverb to quote is, "Get behind me, Satan!"
