There were Police Academy cartoons AND a toyline. There was a Police Academy live-action show. It was set at the Academy with Joe Flahertyas the Commandant, Michael Winslow(Sgt. Jones aka sound effects guy) had a recurring role. Other actors from the movie series had guest appearances as well. 1 season, 26 episodes, 1997-1998. There was a short lived Dirty Dancing TV show. I seem to recall a TV show of A League Of Their Own. There was a crappy live action Bill And Ted show. Robocop had a show that only lasted a season or two. And speaking of Clerks, there was a pilot for a TV show starring Jeff Anderson as Dante. (Yes, you read that right.) I think Robocop actually had two animated series. Two series for a movie that wasn't even REMOTELY made for kids. ;D Yeah, from what I understand, the Clerks show was going to be AWFUL. I don't think Kevin Smith was allowed to have any input into it at all. Pretty glad it didn't get picked up. Robocop had three TV series and mini series as well. Two were cartoons, one live action series and live action mini series. There was a Jumanji animated series. It wasn't bad.

I seem to recall a TV show of A League Of Their Own THANK YOU. I knew I didn't just dream this. I also loved the Weird Science TV show. Everyone in that cast was hilarious in their respective roles, and it's a shame that Vanessa Angel never got more big-time roles after Kingpin flopped (although it has found its audience since).

HBO wanted to to have a LA Confidential mini series but eventually passed. Fox network took up the project and filmed a pilot in 1999. It starred Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Vincennes, Kevin Spacey's character in the movie. It was met to be released in 2000 but Fox passed, instead it was released in 2003.

does the Tremors series count?
I remember most of th other series' mentioned, but the Robocop cartoon was the baffling one, were they basicly aknowledging "yes kids watched the movie cos of the cool Cyborg" ?

Tremors gets bonus points because when they announced it at a press confrence everyone wanted to know why Sci-Fi canceled MST3K and almost nothing was asked about Tremors The Series.

As far as Revenge of the Nerds went, I remembered them advertising the show but never caught an episode. I thought maybe I made the whole thing up, but I'm happy to see that there is an actual series.
If I remember correctly, there was a television show that was based on the movie Shaft. It even starred Richard Roundtree.

There were two TV series based on Casablanca. First one aired from 1955-56 and produced 10 hour long episodes. Second was in 1983, produced 5 hour long episodes and starred Ray Liotta as Sacha. Both were prequels to the movie.

There were Police Academy cartoons AND a toyline. There was also an hour long, live action tv show....as well. And to whomever said it...yes, Fasttimes At Ridgemont did, indeed, have a tv show!

i'd nominate the back to the future cartoon I see that and raise you the Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures cartoon. I see your cartoon & raise you a live action tv show AT THE SAME TIME!!! Plus, to the one who mentioned the Ferris Bueller...it debuted at the same time as Parker Lewis....which is why it disapeared!
