So all of you fans who have following Raw since its inception in 1993, would you mark out to see Raw return to the Manhattan center just for one more show ? Of course, because of the size of the building, they would have to downplay all the lights, pyro, and video. But look at when they last ran Raw in MSG. Didn't it look much cooler for them to use the old school entrance way, instead of the generic tv set ?
For it's time, the original Raw arena it had the coolest look to it. The last time the WWE ran Raw in there was the 1997 episode with the ECW invasion. According the wikipedia, there are two ballrooms (the Hammerstein and the Grand). The Hammerstein was the one used at One Night Stand, but the Grand was the one they used from Raw in 1993.

The crowd there probably won't be very PG friendly, if the 1997 RAW and the 2006 ECW events are any indicator.

Yeah, speaking of the crowd there, 1993 was another PG time in the WWF. I remember whenever Shawn was cutting a promo or wrestling a match, the crowd would often break out a "Shawn is Gay" chant.

That would be such an awesome thing to see again. Maybe they can break out the old giant RAW letters.

Maybe for the 20th anniversary. That'd be cool, but I highly doubt it

I'd mark for the return of the giant "RAW" letters as an entrance way.

Itd be great, but after that disasterous WWECW show 3 years ago with Batista flipping out, its never happening.

Uhh its a different venue to the Hammerstein. Raw was in the Grand Ballroom where ROH has their New York shows.
That ECW show was at the Hammerstein with the crowd chanting "change the channel" etc.

Yeah, but what is trying to say is that a NYC small crowd will shit on the current product.

Honestly, I think you'd get a good mix of kids and adults at Manhattan Center nowadays. There's no guarantee that smarks would buy up all the tickets.
They should do it there for the 20th Anniversary, it'd be pretty big.

After the Big Show VS Batista ECW match with all the chants like "Change The Channel" I highly doubt WWE ever ever ever goes back there.

They'd make nothing on ticket sales. Arena is incredibly small compared to others. Not worth it, even for nostalgias sake.

I had thought from Day 1 of the re-boot of ECW that they should have rotated the show between 4 venues, allowing the brand to visit each venue once a month. I thought that the Manhattan Center should have been one of those venues. Many of the guys that were involved in the reboot already lived in the area, allowing them to run ECW it should have always been ran, as a prominent indie promotion that had national TV outlets and PPV contracts (minus Paul's lack of business acumen).
