The last two have been real good and quite frankly the good out ways the bad overall in the THQ lineup so, I am fine with it. This. SmackDown vs. RAW 2010 is a really solid game. They've really improved the series by leaps and bounds this year. Except EA and FIFA is not behind this license. Simple as that. I foresee a lot of mild improvement at the detriment of existing features in our futures. Of course, considering how godawful the WWE product has gotten, to the point where the storylines in the game are moderately better than the on-air (hellooooooo, Santino's Created Storyline!), consistency might be a saving grace.

I don't enjoy THQ's WWE games. The last WWE game I played was Wrestlemania on my old Sega Genesis. Trying to rip off Mortal Kombat and s***. Did you not like THQ's Nintendo 64 WWF games? Those were f***ing incredible.

Those were f***ing incredible. I should correct myself. I haven't played a wrestling game since 1999 when I was in college. And it was King of the Ring on the Nintendo. We played nothing but old school Nintendo games. I should note how old I feel now knowing that some of you here were probably barely in grade school when I was in college.

Hopefully by 2018 they will figure out how to bring back things that were in games years ago like 8 men in the ring and connected backstage ereas. I would add weapons in the HIAC but thats just pushing it. 8 men in the ring, I would really like that, but then it would be extremely important that they do something about the targeting system. And it's also possible that they improve the graphics because everyone is like "Waaaaaah the UFC game looked way better waaaaaaah" and then they find out that with the improved graphics there can only be 4 people in the ring, or the crowd has to be 2D like on the N64 or whatever. I think performance is more important than looks.

Oh man.
THQ is so boring. They need to change WWE games and make it more exciting. I mean the season mode sucks!!

Dear THQ, USE EUPHORIA, YOU NIMRODS.Love, Sparks This. 600,000% this. That said, SvR 2010 is extraordinarily solid. But it could be perfect if the engine got an upgrade.

I dunno about THQ. I tried pooping in SVR2008 and it seemed like it was full of crap. I couldn't even FIND a season or story mode. Oh yeah, which reminds me. I don't want ROAD TO WRESTLEMANIA. Give me an actual, continuing never ending season... and that means WWE/THQ will have to pony up some alternate PPV graphics, if only to use in addition to WM XXV or something. I shouldn't play a whole year, wrestle at WM XXV, then the next time WM comes it's oddly WM XXV all over again as if I just went under the ring and fell thru a rip in the space-time continuum! Allow me to attack my partner, mid-match(possibly by pausing and selecting an option to do so), and turn myself heel(or face I suppose). Let me go backstage when I fight up the ramp and through the entrance way. Let me alter existing superstars/divas in such ways as hair, facial hair(guys), attires, names(HHH to Hunter Hearst Helmsley, HBK Shawn Michaels to ADD Shawn Mullins, or R-Truth to Ron Killings or K-Kwik for instance) Let me time out how many seconds it takes before my wrestler walks out onto the stage. So many mistimed entrances because of the lack of this feature over the years has annoyed me to no end. In online play, disallow spamming moves. somehow build in a way to block players from doing something more than 3 times without an automatic reversal. blockable punches and kicks can be exempt, but I swear every year people find things that they can do over and over without letting you get a move in and boom, match over. How about a match rating system that actually works. Especially online. Let people watch your match and rate it. Then show us how THEY rated it, vs how the game rated the match. One sided squash matches should be rated low by the game if only to prevent move spammers. It should encourage back and forth play, using a variety of weapons in matches they're allowed in, near falls(not including near falls where you LET the other person kick out of). Ability to rename PPV's in career/story mode as well as insert created things like: logos, banners, stages, ring, and set designs/backstage or outdoor areas. Give us music for people not added into the game, like 2010 missing Zack Ryder. At LEAST give us his music! I can deal with no tron if need be. At least I could create a passable-enough-for-me version of him! Give us QUALITY generic entrance themes we can use for CAW's. I mean, did 2010 even HAVE any!! !!! Less/No match restrictions. If I want McCool vs Mickie in HIAC or Inferno Matches, LET ME! If I want a hardcore ECW Championship match with HHH vs Alicia Fox and Jillian, LET ME! If I want an IC Title match between Shelton, Melina, and Kelly Kelly... LET ME! And if I want an All-Diva or Co-Ed Royal Rumble.... FREAKING LET ME!!! What else?... more innovations in table matches, ladder matches, tlc, and mitb matches. And why can I not have a 3 tag team TLC match when I can have 6 man matches??? I wanted to have E&C vs Hardyz vs various 3rd teams in 2010... BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, THQ had to screw it up! I know I already asked for a lot, but let me end with these. Actual minitrons. They can play the Smackdown ECW or Raw trons while the big ones play for the superstars, so I know it can load the minitrons that go with the big ones. Also, better CAW entrances for not just singles, but especially tag teams and trios. In fact, these days I fully expect more than three man entrances. Give us actual stable entrances. Let us re-create some classic DX, nWo, Ministry, Corporation, or Nation entrances! And for pete's sake, if I want Kofi and Orton as a tag team and want them to enter together... find a way to let them actually walk act and taunt on their way to the ring as you'd expect them to!

Why are people not more bothered about this? SDvRaw is the same old crap with a different year added to the title. Yes, the graphics and that are better and the roster is updated, but the main thing that makes me so bored so quickly is the fact that since the franchise started, they are still using the same animations on 90% of the moves.
The only way I feel it will be in any way fresh is if they do a much needed overhaul on the motion capture. Its not like they dont make any money from the series, so stop being lazy and make a totally new game, not just an update!

The only Smackdown vs Raw game I didn't enjoy was 2008. I agree with you on this. The original SDvR was decent. 2006 and 2007 were awesome (I LOVED GM and 24/7 mode) 2008 was a pile of crap and I hated it. But they bounced back with 2009 and 2010. I'm actually looking forward to what they'll do with 2011.

Grr, I have nothing against THQ and they really made good with the UFC game this year but crikey have customers got burned by the WWE games over the years. My last one, 2009, they decided to gimp the create-a-wrestler so much it took about two weeks to level up stats for ONE wrestler, they expected you to repeat that 32 times to fill out your roster? f*** that.
I'm sure 2010 was a solid game, and I'm sure 2011 will be too. But THQ can't be relied upon to not screw up something (online lag, gimped create-a-wrestler, no DLC, no new animations). May be if they released a game every two years and up hauled the engine it would get me interested again but as it stands, not for me in the next eleven years.

All I want in a new game if new arenas, updated rosters and a new match here and there. If they want to add another feature (such as "Create a Storyline"), that's just icing on the cake.
