Um...what if Jeff Hardy wins something? Do they just say he's not present to accept the award? Or do they not just book him to win (since this is decided by WWE and not the fans)? Because he was involved in, arguably, the Feud of the Year against CM Punk. Do they even have a category for that? Either way, I think it'd be pretty hard not to acknowledge him given how big this year was for him. Maybe if Punk wins OMG moment two years in a row, he can come out with Luke Gallows and Jeff's DVD and cut another anti-drugs promo about Hardy. Actually, I think its almost a given that Hardy wins something and CM Punk "accepts" the award on his behalf by lecturing the crowd on the evils of drugs.

Ah, like how JBL accepted Match of the Year for HBK last year. That was some great heeling. That angle was unjustly derided, in my opinion.

Already know a certain category..Superstar if the year..and I am tied between Jericho & Punk I wouldn't be surprised if Orton wins in, he's my bet. Same here. He desreves it.

At first I thought you guys were talking about the guy from Speed, then I realized that was Dennis Hopper, which made me realize I don't know who the f*** Dennis Miller is.

Did you check the first page of this thread? This is him. He was the douche radio jock in JOE DIRT, and the hero of a little film I love called TALES FROM THE CRYPT: BORDELLO OF BLOOD, amongst other things you may not know him for. ;D

From the look of the advert, these appear to be the nominees, with a surprising omission from Superstar of the Year...
MATCH OF THE YEAR Randy Orton vs. John Cena - I Quit, Breaking Point Money in the Bank - WrestleMania 25 John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H - Survivor Series The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels - WrestleMania 25
SUPERSTAR OF THE YEAR CM Punk Randy Orton Shawn Michaels Triple H Kofi Kingston The Miz
DIVA OF THE YEAR Mickie James Maryse Kelly Kelly Melina
OMG MOMENT OF THE YEAR Jeremy Piven dives onto John Cena Jeff Hardy's Swanton Bomb off the ladder onto CM Punk at SummerSlam The Taker/HBK finish at WrestleMania John Cena gives Edge and Big Show the Attitude Adjustment at the same time at WrestleMania Triple H throws Randy Orton through the window of his own house Big Show throws Cena through a spotlight at Backlash

No Cena or Hardy or Jericho for Superstar of the Year? WOW. Are they really gonna have HHH in there instead of Cena (face) or Jericho (heel)?
Dunno WHY that would surprise me, but hey, it's his company. He can give himself an award if he wants to, I guess. ;D

What about Edge and Cena's Last Man Standing Match from Backlash? What about the Raw Elimination Chamber match from No Way Out? Or the Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio series? I actually think Rey Rey is this year's Wrestler of the Year, to be honest, as he turned in a brilliant performance in the aforementioned Elimination Chamber match, and went on to excel in a feud against Jericho, all while aiding in returning the IC title to prominence. And for that matter, where's Morrison/Rey for match of the year? Or, in an obscure pick, Morrison/Bourne from ECW? Hell, Cena vs. Orton's Ironman Match at Bragging Rights was considerably better than their I Quit match at Breaking Point. And while the Survivor Series Triple Threat was good, it was by no means a MOTYC. I actually think DX vs. Legacy's Hell in a Cell match deserves consideration, since it told a great story. Their Summerslam match was also one of the best straight-up tag team matches of the year. And Money in the Bank gets nominated? This year's was the sloppiest one yet, if you ask me. The spots were at least less contrived than previous installments, but the botching really kept me from appreciating it as much as I could have (I know the performers did their best, and I admire them for that, but it wasn't the best ladder match this year. Both Edge vs. Hardy and Punk vs. Hardy were better TLC matches). So yeah, this IS a bit of a dubious list. It's strange though for Jericho to brag about being Superstar of the Year on Raw last night only to not be nominated again this year. Ah well, I'm getting to think that the Slammys are going to be used mostly to further angles, like the HBK/JBL situation last year. Let's see where this goes.

Those aren't the official nominations, but those were the people/situations shown in the advert.

CM Punk should win Superstar of the year. He won MITB, 2x World Championships, and saved the WWE Universe from the Charismatic Enabler's evil influence. Better yet, have Hardy win the award in kayfabe and Punk accept in his honor. The camera will then zoom in on Mae Young in the front row, giving the double thumbs-down. Actually, I think its almost a given that Hardy wins something and CM Punk "accepts" the award on his behalf by lecturing the crowd on the evils of drugs. You know, I should really start actually reading threads before replying to see if someone else said the exact same thing already. Nah.

Those aren't the official nominations, but those were the people/situations shown in the advert. They can't be the official nominations. There's no way that they'd do those without Michelle McCool, since she's probably going to end up winning the diva one for obvious reasons. That and Cena, of course.

From a kayfabe perspective Superstar of the Year should go to John Cena. Four World title wins in one year - that's all that really needs to be said on the subject, though they can also bring up non-accomplishments like forcing Orton out of being able to challenge him and shutting Miz up and such.
Or maybe this is just me being hopeful - I want a face to win it so it isn't constantly referenced a la Jericho's usual habit of bringing it up each week. As for Jericho winning... Since it's a kayfabed thing that would make no sense because most of the year he's been an upper midcarder at best.

Best Announce team scares me a bit - then again, they could always give it to Grisham and Striker again, even if Striker's filling in for JR.

If someone like Cena wins, do you really think Michael Cole wouldn't bring up "It's the Superstar of the Year!" every single time he comes out and during every one of his matches?

The Miz needs to win something (again) and do an Owen Hart with it.
It makes way too much sense not to

I don't like Dennis Miller, but I really don't understand how people haven't heard of him, he's a pretty popular TV star and comedian.
