Dammit. Leno sucks.
But in a way, I wouldn't mind if they let Conan go. I'd like to see him become successful doing his own thing.

People have been wondering what the problem is with Conan's Tonight Show and it's 1 word.......LENO
Being in the same city with better timeslot and more name recognition with older audiences got Jay the better guests and successfully killed the Tonight Show after its many many years of history.
Hell, Jay wouldn't even give up the studio when his run was over so they had to build a new one for Conan.
Honestly, I never minded Leno until all of this. I have lost all respect for the man.

Add onto the fact that Leno can't be let go by NBC until his contract is up, which it won't be for several more years, and yeah....Leno's turning into quite a prick. I mean he can do whatever he wants and until his contract is up, NBC can't do jack. He's got them by the balls, so who cares if his show has lost major ratings? Who cares if he's potentially kicking out someone with real comedic talent? We can't do anything about it. I just hope Conan gets picked up somewhere that'll treat him right...

Jay seemed like a nice guy but his ego got jealous of a younger (funnier) guy.

TMZ is usually pretty accurate. The move should never had been made in the first place. Conan is much funnier than Leno, but Leno,s show obviously appealed to a wider audience at 11:30.

If I'm Conan, I'd let Leno have his time slot...and go to another channel. I guess NBC got tired of Conan making fun of them ;D
By the way, they just updated the article...couldn't be anymore clearer Leno wants NBC late night all to himself.

I have always enjoyed Conan's Tonight Show.
Apparently I'm one of the few people who actually watches it though..

Didnt FOX at one point try to throw a load of money at Conan to try to get him to come to their network when his contract was up a while back. But he wanted to remain loyal to NBC and took the less pay then what FOX was offering. If FOX still wants him he could possible go there.

Well, this sucks. Conan is IMO the funniest late night show host. Leno just didn't know when to step out of the spotlight and give Conan his time to shine.

Great point. It was a terrible idea to put a talk show on in prime time. Not only did Leno destroy any chance Conan had to succeed, but he also destroyed the local news in many markets.

I always thought the movie to 9 Central Time was a bad thing. The other networks have decent shows on at that time. Leno did good numbers the first week, but then there was a definite fall off.
I think if they can Conan, he'll find something else to do. And probably make NBC regret it, since he'll be on another network.

And he destroyed a lot of 2009's new shows on NBC. Well in a way. NBC canceled those shows cause Leno's show wasn't getting enough lead in ratings in NBC's eyes. It never occurred to them that people weren't watching Leno's show cause it....sucked?

I really don't think they'll give Conan the boot. Yeah especially since Conan has a contract as watertight as Jay's.

I knew the second Leno's show was announced that there would be some attempt at a power play like this, either from the network or Jay himself.
If they completely boot Conan(contract and all), that'll be the dumbest move they can make at the moment. Conan will just go to another network and have his own show(that'd be awesome if he somehow took over for Dave, but I don't see Dave ever really 'stepping down')
