I know we just had the MEM and that was underwhelming and the Invasion angle in WWE was even more of a letdown but I think the timing is perfect for an ECW originals invasion of TNA.
It seems like they're headed that way already. Rhyno just formed a team with Team 3D. Dr. Stevie just brought back Raven. Foley is also involved in this storyline and he could change alignment at the drop of a hat. This would be a great way to involve Hogan in a storyline as well. TNA could do a fueding GM angle with Foley and Hulk which would eventually lead to a semi dream match between the two. Hogan wants more big men, so Balls Mahoney could be called up. Taz could be like the heel announcer. The one thing that would really make this work however is getting RVD involved. They guy can still go and he'd be a perfect opponent for Styles. So the invasion force would be-
RVD-in ring leader Foley - Bischoff type authority figure Team 3D - tag team Taz- commentator Dr. Stevie, Raven, Balls, Daffney rounds out the group. There's also a variety of other alumni available that could be picked up or just have some TNA defectors, like Daniels or The Pope.
Now, to think of a name for the faction that doesn't infringe on WWE's ownership of ECW.

Too many people way out of their prime and I can't imagine them having too valid of a reason to go after the company. They could claim that TNA's ripping off of ECW but the idea of a company ripping of off ECW as a storyline has been done to death.

ECW's been dead for almost 10 years.
Fans have said it. Wrestlers have said. Paul Heyman, RVD, Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, and pretty much every other guy who was there for the "relaunch" has said it.
TNA needs to just try to do something new.

TNA already has a problem with building their brand around aging talent and their decade(s)-old nostalgia factor, and at least Hogan was actually popular with more than a niche audience during his heyday.

Back in 2003 they had the 'Extreme Revolution' with the ECW guys.

How about they look to build their own brand rather than trying to play off one which died a long time ago?

No way. They need to do a wrestling angle with TNA wrestlers vs TNA wrestlers and see how that works

I doubt this happens. I think 3-D and Rhino are just doing a small veteran group. World Elite is obviously the being drawn up to be the top heel stable.

It builds Hogan vs Foley. Biggest money match TNA could make. How am I wrong?
Something like Morgan vs Styles will do more buys? Whatever IWC.

TNA already has a problem with building their brand around aging talent and their decade(s)-old nostalgia factor, and at least Hogan was actually popular with more than a niche audience during his heyday. The ECW guys I named are younger than Hogan and the MEM. And you use them to build their younger talent, not the other way around. Get established veterans, have them at the top for a couple years while they still have mileage and then the young talent goes over. It's not about holding new guys down, it would be/is about getting the most out of the older guys before they become unusable.

How about they look to build their own brand rather than trying to play off one which died a long time ago? How does having an invasion angle interfere with building their brand identity. If anything, it would help to establish one.

Could you please not post like a dozen times in a row? If you have more to say, just edit your post and add it.

I have a high post count because I've commented in a variety of threads and am an active member. What I did not do is post 5 times in a row and needlessly bump my threads. Just saying. And if you have an issue with me asking, do know I could of just put a warning on your account instead, since technically you were breaking the spam guideline, but I tried to just give you a nudge in the right direction rather than do that.

no, I do not think yet another ECW invasion storyline would work. The old ECW is dead and buried and was resurrected as a WWE show to showcase new and currently stale talent. Most of the guys in who were stars in it are well past their prime TNA wouldn't gain anything from bringing them in.

Theres a number of reasons why this would not work.
1. First and foremost, WWE owns ECW. So they couldn't reference ECW at all. This would lead to it turning into a poor mans nWo with a likely dumber name, and barbed wire with flaming tables instead of spraypaint and gang signs.
2. It makes little sense for any of the past ECW guys to care about ECW at this point. All of them have spent more time in other federations.
3. Running along that line of logic, lets say all these ex ECW guys still have some sort of misguided loyalty to a long dead, failed promotion...wouldn't ex ECW wrestlers much rather invade WWECW and take that over? TNA hasn't crapped on the ECW legacy, WWE has. Theres no reason for any of them to want to run roughshod over TNA or take it over.
The only place this angle could work or be interesting in the least is in WWECW but it would never happen there. TNA needs more new ideas, not more rehash.
