Well, what was Joe saying I thought was interesting here:
I often wonder how Wrestling news sites can call their posts "news" when they cannot cite sources or provide proof of what they say occured? I'm not targeting anyone in particular. I'm just saying in normal journalistic circles sources and evidence are key aspects of journalism.

This is the second wrestler now I've seen take issue with Keller, the first being Rob Van Dam back in '99/2000. I don't remember what the situation was, I just know that Van Dam ripped him a new asshole and called him a liar. Nice to see the guy hasn't learned anything.

We see it all the time in sports, which most people hate on wresting journalists seem to forget, people leak things to the media and the media refuses to name them. It's called protecting your source. And it's not just sports media that does it, it's all media. You reveal your sources and, you're out of the business.

Protecting a source isn't a terrible thing in journalism, but typically, a journalist will at least give an idea of what capacity their source serves in (i.e. "a high ranking official within the front office...", "a top aide to the Senator..."). Wrestling sites rarely even provide that.

THIS!I might as well say this, even though it's off the discussion. I find it funny that pro wrestling fans and guys in the business are trying to dodge the fact that their business is being treated the same way almost every other journalistic medium is. I don't see Video Game companies bitch about the press reporting things about their titles, nor do I see the movie industry, one in almost the same position as pro wrestling in terms of 'pulling back the curtain', moan and groan about how these places have ruined their ability to produce movies. They get on with it, mostly due to the fact that the majority of people don't read video game/movie news unless it's reported to them in major newspapers and sources. The same goes for Pro Wrestling. Yes, the old guard might see it differently, but the old guard still had The Wrestling Observer in the 80s.

You know what though, he doesn't prove Keller's a liar. Joe never says that it is all bogus, or an exagerration, or that he was happy or content or even tried the catering. Joe doesn't address the situation that Keller brought up at all he just questions his sources and agenda. Ad Hominem argument defined. I don't doubt that Keller could have made that up or had crappy sources but still Joe does not address the situation only the person. If this thread proves anything, it's that we all know you hate Keller. These, although there were fewer slurs in this than I was expecting.

Wrestling sites rarely even provide that. It's a mixed bag. Sometimes a person can't be named for whatever reason, but you do it too much and people will begin to question it. Sports reporting and entertainment reporting tend to get away with it as it's mostly rumor anyways, but other than that anonymous sources tend to come because there's no way to get the information on the record or the source has reason to be afraid of retaliation. That said, every source isn't anonymous in most news. That's part of why people question wrestling writers, because they have to make every source completely anonymous, which means there's no guarantee they're not just making stuff up like some have been caught doing.

But Keller's been wrong so many times (not as many as Meltzer) that he can no longer be taken seriously.

I wonder if it's the same catering service that gave Teddy Hart some corndogs. THat's a story I need to hear sometime Bradley because I now have images in my head of Teddy Hart in some indy moonsaulting off the top of cages while eating corndogs.
