Newhart still sets the standard.
In recent years, Arrested Development was able to wrap up everything in the span of four episodes, though there's nothing inherently memorable about the final episode itself. It's more of a marvel that, even with the show canceled out from under them, they were able to tie it all together in a satisfying manner.
It's funny how dramas with serialized storylines never get included. X-Files, Battlestar Galactica, and (most likely, but we'll know in a few months) Lost all fall into this category. At the end of the day, there's not much those shows could do to match fan expectation and speculation.

The Wire, a great ending to what is in my opinion, the greatest TV show of all time.

I fully expect to be totally let down with the ending of Lost.

I always thought that Star Trek The Next Generation had a marvalous ending.

Newhart was the best I can ever recall. Boy Meets World did a good job too though.

Life on Mars (UK) had a near perfect ending but as it features in my avatar I may be bias. {Spoiler}Who knew suicide could be uplifting? Sam on the roof with the song life on Mars playing in the background was one of the all time great scences (he even smirked at the line "look at the law man beating up the wrong guy) I agree with Cheers and 3rd Rock from the sun too.

I fully expect to be totally let down with the ending of Lost. There's no way they can come up with something that answers all the questions while still making sense.

I always thought that Star Trek The Next Generation had a marvalous ending. Certainly the best of the Trek finales anyway. It's just too bad that the films that followed it weren't nearly as good.

Six Feet Under may have had my favorite finale ever. So appropriate and ended everything how it just had to end. Agreed. While I hated it at the time and was very depressed with what I saw, I've come to appreciate it for what it was.

I always thought the Newhart ending would have been a tidy way to tie up the Austin Powers franchise. Make one last film, the plot of which I have no idea, and then do the wavy dream thing and have Wayne wake up and tell Garth about this weird british secret agent dream he just had.

How exactly did Daria End?
Also I liked how Good Times ended: despite being stuck in the Projects for their whole lives, in the last episode ALL the characters run into a Luck streak within the span of 3 minutes and move out.
Fantastic Max: In the last episode they end up getting into some type of Time Warp and it started all over again from the beginning, which is a pretty clever way of explaining why the shows keep looping in syndication.
