Not sure if this one qualifies as wrestlecrap. I am actually a fan of Killings-he is a fantastic all round talent. He is good in the ring, good on the mic, good at working the crowd. I wish his feud with CM Punk had been played out more. However, I wonder how many of us choose to remember that before he was the Truth, he was...K Kwik.
He debuted right before WCW went under, I believe. He had a rapper gimmick that consisted of him shouting "Git rowdy!" at the crowd a lot. He was tag teamed with the soon to be departed Road Dogg. The gimmick wasn't too bad, but in retrospect it seems like it was a waste of his talents. He has proven since that he has awesome mic skills and can cut fantastic promos. Having him do nothing but speak in rap lyrics was kind of stereotypical, and when you can give interviews like he does, it is better to just speak straight up.
Added to that, I remember hearing rumors that he was scheduled for a big push under the character. There was talk of a tag title run with Road Dogg, and maybe even of a singles run, possibly even gold like the IC title. However, when WCW went under and the WWF had a sudden influx of ex WCW and ECW talent, he kind of got pushed to the side and forgotten. He was used as fodder for the InVasion storyline for a while, with WCW guys squashing him to show their dominance. He was released shortly thereafter. However, I seem to remember hearing the reason for his release was not the roster being overpopulated, but rather that he had the all too familiar failure of the drug test.
In all, an unremarkable note in what has since shaped up to be a good career. But still, might be wrestlecrap worthy.
