Whether it's just me, but I think the new NXT brand has been going on a downward spiral lately. Especially with these goofy-as-hell opening segments which are definite shades of the Diva Search 2004. In fact, didn't the Divas Search have a Gladiators-jousting competition? NXT just did it last night! Oh, and don't get me started on last week's opening segment which saw Skip Sheffield talking about rainbows and Heath Slater discussing about cereals.
Another thing that's mind boggling is the constant jobberfication of Daniel Bryan. He's clearly a fan favorite, yet the writing team keeps burying him to lose every match he's in. I don't know if he did something to royally piss the writers or Vince himself, but it blows my mind to see WWE just s*** on Bryan when the fans want to see him succeed (probably not anymore as they've probably seen the writing on the wall that Bryan's going nowhere.)
The way things are going for NXT, I wouldn't be surprised if this became a candidate to win the 2010 Gooker Award.

Well, it has to stand vs. the power ring and "dangerous pit", but I think NXT is overall a bigger waste. Its basically completely killed most people's interest in the "C Show Block" that used to be ECW. Even the "dangerous pit" didn't turn TNA fans off the TNA product.

I thought ongoing angles were more or less ineligible to be inducted? The story I've heard is they're turning Bryan to a great "underdog," but I agree that what they're doing now is a bit much.

The thing is I don't know if it will still be around when Smackdown moves to SyFy this fall and NXT will have to look around for a new channel. Rumors point to Bravo, but I doubt it will be that.

I don't think NXT should be considered Wrestlecrap...not unless Heath Slater and Michael Tarver win the whole damn thing.

It's not over yet. It could get better. It's not likely, but it's possible.

But you do have to admit, these opening segments are eerily similar to the Divas Search 2004.

I would say so.
A worked sport? No problem. A worked reality show in which they change the format and concept on the fly? No good.

It started out okay, but yeah now it is. After they did the Keg Race, Promo competition, and rock' em sockem robots, NXT is entering AWA Team Challenge Series of awfulness lets hope WWE dosen't get a hold of any uncooked turkeys.

Yup. Just the challenges every week qualify it. And the fact that they are pulling the plug after less than a year.

Watch, tonight's opening will have the NXT rookies duking it out over a bag of Doritos in a "Potato Sack Race" or something just as absurd.

I would say so. A worked sport? No problem. A worked reality show in which they change the format and concept on the fly? No good. ALL reality shows are "worked" and almost all of TV is "worked". All reality shows, bar none, can be considered crap so yes, NXT is wrestlecrap to some extent especially with stupid things like those non-wrestling challenges on it. Also: Heath Slater on a winning streak is wrestlecrap.

Sadly, I actually want to know what crappy contest they'll be doing next show.

Don't say that! Because WWE will do it now or get their hands on other things that can be suspended from the ceiling or be shoved onto a pole!

For sure NXT is wrestlecrap.
A bunch of guys with no gimmicks (only 2 or 3 will move on to have actual gimmicks anyways these days) not wrestling and Striker shilling about how great they all are, when we've barely seen them wrestle

everyone who says the challenges are enough to qualify it are wrong. NXT is entertaining TV week in and week out.
I expect Daniel to win the last immunity challenge, then be ranked five meaning number four gets tossed out. This is an excuse to bring number four back. Bryan will win his first match in a Fatal Fourway at Fatal Fourway
