I've watched "The Rise and Fall of ECW", and I've been wondering if the Raven/Sandman crucification should be inducted or not.
The few things that I can think of is that Stevie Richards was like, "This is completely f'ed up", and for the first time, "the ECW audience was like, quiet". They were so offended by this, that later, Raven had to break character and apologize for this angle.
It's also the same show that a pre-WWF Kurt Angle had attended, and walked out of in disgust after seeing it.
The counterpoint against inducting it would be that if this was inducted, then you might as well induct The Undertaker's crucifixions.

Theyve inducted Taker crucifiying Austin, so why not?

No. But having Raven apologize might be.

No. But having Raven apologize might be. If you're going to do that. Then you have to induct the entire crucification angle. You can't have one without the other.

Not to mention, despite it's controversial nature ... it got Raven mega-heat. Mission accomplished, so ... not very WrestleCrappy.
Jed Shaffer ~Between 'Taker and Raven, I'm honestly surprised we never saw a "crucifixion match" back in the day.

A fair bit of what's listed as Wrestlecrap was at the time over a fair amount. If heat excludes something from nomination, then shouldn't it be held up consistently?

If the site staff has one fault it's that they hold ECW up on a pedestal. Sure, ECW had a lot of good stuff, but just like any other company it had its fair share of wrestlecrap. I'm not even a Christian and I found Raven's crucifixion of Sandman to be awful. I would say it definitely qualifies, especially if they did induct the Undertaker crucifying Austin.
Again though it's RD's site, and if he doesn't want to do any ECW inductions, it's all well and good. There's plenty of stuff out there from other promotions.

I thought it was mentioned in the wrestlecrap book. It was part of RD's rant on Russo going bat**** in 99 with his WWF storylines. If it's mentioned in the book, I say it's wrestlecrap.

No chance. I honestly thougt the crucifixion of Sandman to be awesome, made even more awesome than Ravens completely half assed apology after.

What about the quotes from the members of the Flock(or the Nest whichever it was) said at the time it happened the ECW fans were quiet for like the first time ever.

Raven said in his shoot interview that the audience had the right reaction to be shocked but that Taz and Kurt Angle were the ones that complained to Paul E. and Tod Gordon and turned it around to the point Paul and Tod got paranoid and forced Raven to go out there and do the half-assed apology.
As for inducting it, I don't see why. The feud itself was awesomely engrossing and crucifying The Sandman with the help of his minions fit the situation. Just my opinion. And I don't remember Undertaker crucifying Austin being inducted.

Just to play devil's advocate here, I would argue that a distinction can be made between an overall angle and a single point in the story. The single point can be crap while the overall story remains entertaining.

I've been thinking that this is where "Even WrestleCrap has standards" comes in? You know, "Thou shalt not speak anything negative against the original ECW"? Of course, there are exceptions (both ECW video games were inducted, AFAIK).
