Sorry to hear about the killed Luger. But you know what I get? ESPN kept refering him to be representing "the former Soviet republic of Georgia." Umm ESPN, the USSR sorta broke-up about 20 years ago. Georgia has been just Georgia or the Republic of Georgia since then. Most the audience couldn't tell apart the Republic of Georgia and the state of Georgia so clarification will be needed or some people will think the state of Georgia seceded again. And as they pointed out when the countries were coming in. That alot of them the offical Olympic title is "Former Yugoslovia/USSR...."

I remember at the 1996 Opening Ceremonies in Atlanta, Georgia got a fairly sizable pop from the crowd, simply due to name recognition.

When I associate Celtic themes with Canada, I think more East with West. What with them being closer and all. So where's Michael Flatley?

He's building a moat around himself, does that mean he's besieging himself?

Once again, I feel the need to reiterate that a sizable portion of British Columbia is most likely currently stoned outta their tiny minds. There's a big MJ culture there.
And it would explain a lot of what we're seeing.

I would love an Olympic opening ceremony once say "screw culture and heritage!" and then we have someone like Lady Gaga perform.

Ashley McIssac. Hopefully, they made him wear underwear under his kilt tonight so there's no repeat of that incident from Late Night with Conan O'Brien several years ago.
