We should hang out more. But seriously, Sheamus has not had an actual pinfall win over a main eventer. But all his wins come by DQ and cheap crap like that. Oh, but he gets to beat up main eventers! Well so does Big Show, so did Mark Henry, so did all the other heel hosses. The only difference is WWE didn't put a title on them because of their own dumbass booking for challenger locking them in a corner. He's beaten midcarders, retired a jobber...but can anyone honestly defend this reign besides the "ITZ NEW AND DIFFERNEZ!!111!!" defense?

Nope...if anything it made me dislike Sheamus.
It's like putting the World Title on a midcarder in EWR. It pisses off the fans and other workers and makes no sense.

No because Sheamus is a blame FCW clone. However the match with Randy Orton was surprisingly entertaining.

He did that in December...its February, and all I feel like now is "somebody take the title off the pale weasel who weasels his wins", instead of "somebody take the title off the pale monster who dominates his opponents and wins decisively".

There wouldn't be anything wrong with his title reign if he was booked as a cowardly heel champ, but hes not. Sheamus is SUPPOSED to be some kind of dominating monster heel who so far they've made look like a total pussy.
This is the way a Miz world title reign should be booked, not Sheamus.

It may just be my own genetic heritage, but I'd buy a guy who sells himself "Celtic Warrior" and has Highlander sounding music as a heroic face rather than as a slimy heel who always cheats to win and weasels out of matches. Heel Sheamus does nothing for me, and seems like a "generic brand WWE heel" in contrast to a guy like Punk or Orton who has a much more specific act.

When I think Celtic Warrior then I think a heroic bloke that doesn't back down and might just be a bit of a headcase.

He has as much charisma and talent as he does skin pigmentation. The match he had tonight put the crowd to sleep. Orton can be UGH at times too but tonights match reminded me of Triple H v Koslov at Survivor Series a couple years back (yanno when Edge ALSO returned from a major injury) Sheamus is i guess a monster heel who wins in the same manner the Honky Tonk Man wins.. Please take the title off him before it destroys a title match at Wrestlemania.

I was amazed at how the crowd literally went from buzzing to silent after Sheamus kicked Orton.
Not the greatest of signs, I suppose.

He's no different than anybody who's brought up through ECW with an interesting character. Comes to Raw, gets stripped of his personality, and is put in his place by the Glass Ceiling Committee. Only difference between Sheamus and Bourne is that Sheamus was given a shiny toy to carry around.

It's awful booking. They shot him up because he is friends with HHH just like how they shot up Randy Orton and Batista before either of them were ready although at least they built them both up a little first.

Maybe letting him pin someone other than Evan Bourne would help. Yeah, hey, I'm a big Sheamus fan and I think he's decent enough in the ring to be champion (this is the second match in a row some people have been "pleasantly surprised" at) but WWE can only seem to do one type of heel and it's hard to reconcile that with his gimmick (although they did a decent TV job doing it with his match against Cena last week).
His reactions ARE growing but it's not any use giving him the full stop if he's not allowed to write the sentence, as it were.

WWE is just terrified to put him over any of their main event talent...even though they gave him the main event belt. It hurts my head.

The WWE champion (the "real" champion in the company's eyes, not the World Heavyweight champion) on the flagship show of the company (which is funny, because Raw has been the weakest show put on by WWE for a long time) is booked as an after-thought. Not very encouraging. His push was shaky and too meteoric at best, especially since he beat up people no one cared about. Working against Cena--who is always booked to look invincible pretty much even though the guy is so over it wouldn't hurt his credibility at all if he lost clean--doesn't help. Heel versus heel rarely clicks, and when the heel is Orton (who doesn't seem to gel with Sheamus at all), nothing great can really come of it.
Add on top of all this the big bully with stubby arms who's supposed to be a "warrior" is booked like a chickencrap heel... makes no sense.
I wasn't keen on him when he got the strap, but I kind of feel bad for him given that he's just kind of... there.

He's getting Cena heat without the charisma to get people to watch him anyway. They just don't care. He'll drop the strap at EC or Mania and who knows where he goes from there. Back to the mid-card to develop a bit more hopefully.

No, but it has nothing to do with Sheamus. Hell the only title on Raw that's been booked anywhere near extremely important is the US title. I'm probably just assuming this but Miz is most likely on the show more than Sheamus is.
The booking has just been terrible. They refuse to have him beat ANYONE and then they stick him on Raw at whatever time period they feel like. He's not being booked like a champion, he's being booked like a guy that just happens to have the championship. When your big time champ is a dominating force like Sheamus is supposed to be he should make the belt, but in this case the WWE title is definitely (supposed to be at least) making Sheamus.
