Yeah, Apple does seem to enjoy making people pay to beta test it's products.
Honestly, they had something like this on Star Trek called the PADD. It would be nice to have a computer with a lightweight operating system that runs mostly mobile versions of more powerful applications, and having it all connected on some kind of cloud network. You know, something I don't have to wait ten minutes to load every app. But honestly, Apple likes beta testers.

Between this, and the Nintendo DSi XL, it seems like this country is suddenly struck by the need to make things that already exist monumentally larger. I always thought the point of technology was to make it as powerful and compact as possible to ensure a good amount of usability and common space. All of a sudden, the world wants everything bigger. Weird.
