Every other movie has it's fans and it's detractors, some justified, some not. But I honestly do not recall ever in my entire life hearing anyone ever say a negative word about Ghostbusters. Discuss.

I'm sure someone doesn't like it. I've never known anyone who doesn't like it. So in MY world....everyone loves it, including me.

The special effects haven't aged too well (particularly with Zuul and Vinz Clortho), so someone who's anal about good creature animations may not like it.

I've heard of people who think the second one isn't all that great compared to the first. Which I kind of agree with.

I remember reading on on a forum, perhaps this one, a dude who's girlfriend had never seen Ghostbusters and didn't think it was very funny when she did see it. She was Europeans for wha it's worth, and didn't grow up watching it.
It did come out during that era of the 80s and early 90s that was all about the adventure/sci-fi/comedy genre which gave birth to similar unhateable moves like the Back to the Future trilogy and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I'm sure there are plenty who hate it....but me personally, I have never met anyone who's not liked it.

I dislike it.
Though I do like the theme song and Luigi's Mansion.

I saw it with my at-the-time girlfriend when we had a movie night together, and I thought it was okay...provided, we saw it alongside Stand By Me which is one of the best movies ever IMO so...that probably influenced it a bit.

I saw the movie when I was really young and I hated it. I have watched some clips of it on YouTube recently and still think it's unfunny.

I prefer the first one to the second one, live in perpetual fear of a third one (Seriously, with the proposed cast it'll be the same damn comedy that's been released 4 or five times already with ghosts and proton packs added in), and believe the Game to be good if not a little wobbly on the controls.

The sequel sucked, if that counts.

I'm not big on it, but Bill Murray did have some good one liners.

There's quite a few people out there that think its overrated. I've seen some discussion threads on various film boards where people come out of the woodwork to share that distaste for it.
I don't agree, but they do exist.
Here's what I've discovered about life:
No matter how awesome something is, someone somewhere thinks its the worst thing ever. Always.
Conversely, no matter how terrible something is, someone somewhere things its the best thing ever.
There's really no accounting for taste.
