I don't see how he actually tore them. On the McMahon DVD he says that he`d been sitting in the 'gorilla position' (whatever that is) all night which caused him to be all stiff. So when he runs at the run and jumped in he tore them both. I think if he had warmed up a little and done some stretches it wouldn`t have happened.

By the way, the gorilla position is the bit behind the curtain but before the backstage, where the monitors are. It's named after Gorilla Monsoon.
