How do you all feel about this one ? Yay or Nay ? This was the third stadium show to date, but it seems like it never stood up next to Mania 3 or 6 as far as being a milestone Mania.

It does feel like a good, but not great WrestleMania.

Hell no, it's a very underrated 'Mania, in the top 10 easily.

Personally, it's my favorite. Unbelievable World and IC Title matches, Hogan's first "retirement," Warrior's return (not a fan now, but a huge mark then), and the best commentary duel of all time. I don't know what was in Heenan's water that night, but he and Monsoon were hysterical the whole way through.

Very, very solid show. Essentially a goodbye to the Rock and Wrestling era featuring the last main event match for Savage, final Wrestlemania commentary for Monsoon, and a preview of the next generation era with Bret, Shawn, and Taker all in prominent singles roles.

It's a show I can watch all the way through, and only look at the screen for the IC, World, and Main Event matches. I can just listen to Gorilla and Bobby the whole way through and be thouroughly entertained. In fact, I put the 1992 Royal Rumble in my DVD player on my work computer, and just listened to the whole thing, only pulling up the screen every once in awhile.
(I know; "nerd." But it's better than the guys who have their iPods, bouncing their heads around.)

This was the first one I rented, I liked it pretty well. I gotta admit that even though it's cool that there was an actual tag division at the time, I never got too excited for the teams of the day, so those matches don't do a lot for me. Other than that, yeah, good show to me.

I always like this Wrestlemania because it took place in my hometown and it was during my favorite time period of wrestling.

Despite a pretty terrible main event with Hogan and Sid, I thought WM8 was good.

I mean Hogan was big at the time, but I still thought Savage-Flair for The WWF title should have been the main event...great Wrestlemania, leagues ahead of the next few that came after it.

Drawing wise, it should've been Flair vs. Hogan for the main event title match, but of course backstage politics got in the way.

Actually, according to a lot of reports, Flair v Hogan hadn't been drawing that well at MSG.
And I have a theory about that.
Flair is a legend, no question, but at the time, how much of the New York Audience was familiar with the NWA/WCW guys? I think to a lot of people, he was just a small guy who'd been around 6 months shooting his mouth off with nothing to back it up.
They should have run in the south, Hulkamania was known the world over, and if you go to the Carolinas, you have Flair drawing too and you can do big business in an NWA/WCW stronghold.

I love Piper and Bret but thought that match was overrated. It was ok but nothing historic. Hogan-Sid was forgettable but Warriors comeback was amazing. Savage/Flair was great
everything else was pretty forgettable...not great no terrible. meh wrestlemania

Flair vs Hogan would of SUCKED.
Savage-Flair was the much better option and it was tremendous, just should of main evented.

the card should've had Flair vs Hogan and Macho Man vs Jake Roberts no DQ
Piper vs Bret was amazing as was Savage vs Flair

Good Mania, but not great.
The Macho/Flair match has grown on me over the years since, but at the time I HATED it. Probably because Flair was in it. Never got into Flair, ever.
Bret vs. Piper is probably my favorite match ever.
Hogan vs. Sid was terrible, but when Warrior ran out was perfect. The moment Heenan says, "You don't have a friend left." Warrior's music hits. I was a fan for 3 years at this point, but I was 9 at the time, probably my first "holy shit" moment.
