I may be in the minority, but I liked the character of Pretty Ricky. My home town is Memphis, Tennessee, and I have known guys who act exactly like Pretty Ricky`s character.Sadly, this is why people didn`t get the gimmick. It is more of a Memphis type of gimmick.

I didn't think it was a regional thing so much as a "Ron Killings has done coke and someone filmed it" thing.

Also consider that he spent a few years in Memphis back in his early days in developmental.I do believe it was somewhat a regional thing.I`m not lying when I say that I have known guys to act like his character did.The gold teeth, the over boistrous behavior, etc. I just think that some are uncomfortable with what the gimmick was because it is controversial.

It didn't last enough for me to enjoy or dislike it. It just kinda happened, like Heidenreich talking about Little Johnny or that gothy guy that did the one shot promo that interrupted the show that the news sheets said was going to be another guy to go one on one with the Undertaker. It's hard to "get" a gimmick that had such little exposure.

It's hard to "get" a gimmick that had such little exposure. Even with exposure, I don`t think many people would get it. I think Ron Killings did a good job, but I don`t think that it would have mattered in the long run.

I would lol if R-Truth did a multiple personality thing like Mick Foley.
R-Truth Pretty Ricky (aka Delicious) K-Kwik (It can be some new outrageous gimmick)

Ron Killings doing almost anything is a bona fide license to print money.

All I remember was just how f'ing random it was. "Here's R-Truth acting like a goofball wearing comedy teeth!"
I liked the bit with the ice cream though.

Speaking of pretty Ricky... anyone else notice the induction was more... well, offensive then others, with repeatedly calling the security guard a lesbian and "dyke"? Seemed a little much.

I'm just glad JR didn't use one of his usual phrases and say "R-Truth's acting goofier than a pet 'coon".

I don't know. To me it seems like the character from "In Living Color". I was expecting Pretty Ricky to say "I'm Hip, I'm Slick, & all the ladies love my...afrosheen!"

If it's a "Memphis gimmick" then it's wrestlecrap because WWE though that it would play to a worldwide audience.

If it's a "Memphis gimmick" then it's wrestlecrap because WWE though that it would play to a worldwide audience. That`s why it couldn`t work. Heck, in a way many who live hear in Memphis wouldn`t necessarily get it either. It took me a little bit to try to grasp what his character is supposed to be. Which is Memphis style ghetto.

As long as it wasn't a conplete character change for him, it was actually somehow funny.
