The guy has a right to make a living. It's obvious he's desperate for the money, even going as far as trying to get his deal through Panda as opposed to a less financially secure TNA.
If whatever he was looking for was available to him in WWE, I'm sure he would have jumped all over it, but this was what was out there for him so he took it.
Honestly though guys retire/unretire and seemingly burn bridges forever that are magically mended so often in this business... Is it really possible anyone in wrestling can be considered a hypocrite?

yes he is a hypocrite. He's bad mouthed TNA during his time in the WWE and made them out to be a small indy promotion, then he shows up on their show.
As much as I loved the Nature Boy, he really is.

Sadly I think it all leads back to alot of terrible decisions Flair has made over his career money wise. He never saved from the sounds of it, and then with is aging career/less money and the divorce and other troubles he just couldn't give up his lifestyle. This leads to his horrible financial situation and now he's left just doing anything that people will give him money for. Honestly if TNA said they'd give him X amount of dollars he'd probably take a spot off the top of a cage. It's more depressing to me than being hypocritical.

Help out AJ and some others. Do something with Hogan and Bischoff. Maybe Foley. And maybe have one last feud/match with Sting. Then ride off into the sunset. Okay he'll probably just sign with WWE and have another retirement match, but we can dream? Would a union have helped someone like Flair? Or would he still have screwed everything up?

My respect for Flair has plummeted over the past 5 years. He was, undeniably, The Man.
But now, with sadness in my heart, I have to say that hypocrite be damned. Ric Flair has become a whore.

Yes he's a hypocrite. He and Hogan are two of the biggest media whores wrestling has ever known. And maybe if Flair would stop getting married, he wouldn't be hurting for cash.
Ric...keep nailing girls 20 years younger than you...but stop marrying them! You're an idiot!!!

That seems to be Flair for you. He'll always trash the competition, but take the first chance he gets to jump ship when the money comes along. He was the flag bearer for NWA for ages, but had no issues taking their belt to WWF.

But you can thank Vince for setting up the "independent contractor" model. Actually you can thank Hogan for it too because he narc on Jesse Ventura in the 80's when he tried to start a union in the WWF. As to the Nature Whore, he's all about the money. I remember after his retirement match and ceremony, he went to any piss ant indy that paid his appearance fee to put it over.

Flair gave Vince the belt becuase the NWA refused to repay the deposit that Flair put down while holding the belt. The NWA tried to screw him, so he made the NWA pay for that stunt.

I would say "joke" is now a more appropriate term.

This is wrestling, and we're talking wrestlers. I would say a majority of the top tier guys are snake in the grasses. It was just much easier for the fans to buy it when it was only Hogan who did these things.

It hurts me to say but yes, I have lost respect for him. After the send off he got from the WWE and being offered the ambassador role, bring in over $250k a year just for being an ambassador, he could do other appearances as well, to go to the competition when the WWE has been so good to you is a big kick in the teeth. I know he's desperate for cash but surely Hunter could have got him something. I don't care how many girls half his age he bangs, just as long as he stops marrying them.

Flair lost me back when he took a nice, warm piss on ROH back in April. So I'm inclined to agree.

Of course he is. Read any Scott Stiener interview he has had this guys number from day one.
My own fave Flair moment is when he talked about how Nash and Hall disrespected the business for Curtain call yet would kiss the backsides of the other two guys in the ring with them.

Steiner was right along. Who knew there was so much truth in those marble mouthed ramblings? Speaking of which where is Steiner? is he still on TV regularly? I hope they give him 5 minutes to talk about Flair every week like Nitro used to do.

Have you ever seen a one trick pony in the field so happy and free If you've ever seen a one trick pony then you've seen Flair Have you ever seen a one legged dog makin' his way down the street If you've ever seen a one legged dog then you've seen Flair
Come on, I can't be the only one thinking "Ric Flair is The Wrestler" with his current situation.

{Spoiler}Everyone ever is a hypocrite. Ric Flair is no exception. Seriously, don't hang the man out to dry simply because he said one thing and did another, hang him out to dry because he's developed a pattern of that sort of behavior. He chases money? He wants to be where the action is? That's fine, he just needs to quit trying to bury everything that he's not a part of.
