I think TNA will put on the better show but there is no way they will even come close to getting over a 1.5 rating. With the rumors of Paul Heyman, Russo, and Bischoff being the new creative team this will eitehr be the greatest night of wrestling ever...........or the greatest train wreck. Either way I'm watching and will love it!!!

I say this as a huge TNA fan, and a multi-time visitor to the Impact Zone... it's unrealistic to expect TNA to beat RAW in any traditionally measured way at this point. TNA isn't on a big enough network, doesn't have the level of mainstream recognition, etc.
But what I do hope is that TNA puts on the best show they can, generates enough interest, and causes enough of a stir to make WWE sit up and pay attention, rather than just outright dismissing TNA the way they are right now. I hope TNA causes WWE to raise their game, which will in turn make TNA step up even more, and we eventually get a new promotion war.
At the risk of flogging an at least mortally wounded horse, this sort of competition will drive each company to give it's best, and it's ultimately the fans who benefit.

A question. Given TNA are not the best at promotion, have they made enough of an effort to promote this show? I don't know what they have done, seeing as I am not in America, but it does hinge on that really. Even in the UK, where TNA is well promoted, it's kind of hard for them because people who watch wrestling ("casually", rather than the the "hard-core" fans) kind of regard WWE as "it". If TNA are just going to rely on word-of-mouth and Hogan this could tank. Badly. I hope not, and I really hope that iMPACT! does well tonight, because I'd rather watch iMPACT! than RAW, and to be quite honest I think a sizeable portion of the fans who have been watching RAW would like to see something new too, but TNA NEEDS this to work if they are ever going to get the mainstream attention they need and IMHO deserve.

They've been promoting the hell out of this show. They've done interviews in a ton of different markets and even have a sign right up in Time Square. If this show doesn't do well, they can't blame it on lack of advertising.

All of the advertising has been about Hogan. If the show doesn't do well, It should all fall on Hogan.
But if it does, it won't.

I'm actually excited about wrestling again. Both shows are trying to step it up, and the anticipation is building!

Well I for one will be watching Impact tonight.
I respect Bret Hart but him appearing on Raw tonight is just not enough to get me to watch any WWE programming again.

I hope TNA do well because competition would be great for the business. I can't watch TNA live myself other than via a stream as I'm in the UK and on top of that I'm a big Bret mark so I'll be watching RAW. I hope as many people watch Impact as possible though.

I was really looking forward to a solid monday night fight for viewers. I tuned in to watch the first hour of Impact and set the DVR to record the rest so I could watch Brets return to Raw. But after that opening cage match (which had so many things wrong with it) I lost my enthusiasm. Is it just me or is anyone concerned they are bringing in several members of the roster from WCW when it went under?
Would love to see another big player in the wrestling biz but in my opinion TNA has a long way to go before they need to start talking about taking on WWE. And if they want people to think that they will be better than Vince they should really stop name dropping Vince and the WWE every 5 seconds, it looked weak in WCW and it looks weak now.
