the moment it was confirmed that Bret was hosting RAw there went any shot at TNA getting a 2 Fixed for realism. If they do a 1.5 they should celebrate Even before Bret I personally didn't think the chances were very good of them even making a 1.0. We'll see, I guess, but TNA'd be wise to try to brace themselves all the same.

I am reminded very much of the way Vince helped to put the old NWA out of business back in the 80's. He ran big shows opposite the NWA's and sucked away the audience. Do I think Bret's return was planned purely around TNA bringing in Hogan? No, probably not. I am willing to bet Vince had plans for some time to bring Bret back some time in this new year. But, I would not be amazed if he decided to up the time frame for it once he found out about TNA's show with Hogan coming up. It would be relatively easy to do, and a classic Vince McMahon tactic.

It's been interesting to see who has been talking this up as a genuine war, and who hasn't.
Someone like Borash has been playing it very cool, even to the point of saying the ratings 'won't really matter', so downplaying it in hopes of something good. Hogan, on the other hand, has been putting out a lot of aggressive messages and seem confident of a big rating.
I think there's reason for them to be positive. I think it's just that there is for Raw as well, and personally they might both get mugged a bit by the football show.

Although adding to that, Hogan's recent comment of "I've already won" by getting Vince to sign up Bret suggests he doesn't have the initial confidence he tried to project either.
