If I ever see the Boogeyman figure, I'm picking it up quick. I liked the Boogeyman, sure he was worse than Khali in the ring (Khali knew a chop, boot and 2 handed chokeslam, Boogey knew a punch and a pumphandle slam), but his character was very different and entertaining, if a little over the top. He's one of the few examples where I can enjoy a guy regardless of his ring work. And to go out undefeated with a win at Mania being your last match is a good achievement, even though he did have very few matches. And he's in SVR07, which is a good thing. I wouldn't mind seeing the Boogeyman persona return, but due to Wright's age it'd probably have to be played by another guy.

OK so your in your 40s and getting a bigger push then most the guys in WWE,you have a Mania win over the current champion and a squash win over one of the longest running champions and you cant get your A** to the doctor, so they can bring you back to keep getting pushed after injury after injury!!If the reports are true then GOOD RIDDONS YOU MORON!!

This is why young guys should not be pushed. They start thinking they have arrived and quit trying. If he had spent a few years doing dark matches and getting squashed, then he may have appreciated it a lot more when he gets picked to fued with someone like Booker T. He is not young.

By young, I meant in terms of ring experience. They shouldn't take some guy that is new to the big time and push him hard.

Well, how else are you gonna hit on that next big thing if you don't take the chance and push the young guys? Look at all the interest in C.M. Punk. If he had spent years doing dark matches and being a jobber like you suggested earlier, then all the interest in him would be long dead by now. Wrestling needs young guys on top, especially right now, when business is down and nothing really spectacular is happening right now.

I liked the Boogeyman a little at first, but the worms bit was getting old and he never did much in the ring. His crowning moments were eating the mole off Jillian's face and the freaks sketch at Mania.
If Creative actually lived up to their title, they would've formed a Freaks stable with DiBiase as the leader/mentor, Boogeyman and Snitsky as the "enforcers" (limit their ring-work to gang-beatings and squashes). Burchill, Eugene and Goldust would be the primary 'active' members.

If a guy is great despite being green, then go for it, but those guys are few and far between. Most of the great wrestlers paid their dues first. Which Punk has by the way. He's been wrestling for nearly a decade now in indy's and then OVC. Boogeyman had his first professional match in OVC in summer of 2005 and he's in Wrestlemania in 2006. That's just too far, too soon in my opinion.

at least he didn't have teeth permanantly removed for the gimmick or anything..... They were knocked out! Either that, or that's some freakin' dedication to the character right there.

He had a Pump Handle Power Slam..........."Neat-O", that is not. Unique and exciting in the late 80's, early 90's.......but nowadays thats like ProWrestling 103. It's old-hat. BUFFOONERY. PUMP HANDLE SLAM IS THE GREATEST MOVE OF ALL TIME.

They were knocked out, it wasn't for the character. But Marty Wright has got to be hemorrhaging brain cells left and right to mess this up. It amazes me how guys in such an intense physical sport think they can ignore directives to get in shape. His age and propensity to injury was already against him; any hint of a bad attittude and he deserved to be canned. But I personally loved the Boogeyman character. I think this is the kind of semi-"old school," semi-"new and shocking" character that is exactly what WWE does best. He got over with kids, while doing stuff like the worm eating crap that really freaked people out. I hope Wright shows up on the indy scene doing a similar character--he'll miss what he had in WWE though.

I can't watch "How To Eat Fried Worms" without thinking of him.
I look in my closet for him. My son loved him. Why didn't he just work out?
