I finally got around to see Ridley Scott's Legend, I just finished it. Thought I'd finally get around to the Princess Pride tomorrow.
Have you seen a film for the first time lately?
PS How the f*** was the kid who played Gump in Legend 19 at the time? He didn't look a day over 11.

Plan on watching The Hangover sometime this week. Probably Inglorious Basterds as well.

I saw Nightwatch. It was okay but not as good as it was hyped up to be.

Finally got around to the original Friday the 13th a couple of days ago. What a f***ing awful movie that was. The whole series is awful IMO, the worst and laziest wallow in slasher film stereotypes ever made. And people say horror movies now are predictable and bad... That said, I've heard wonderful things about Monster Squad and really want to see it.

I just saw Shutter Island. Now I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it yet but me surmise to say it's the mindfudge movie I've seen since Memento. What an amazing movie!

Also it came out back when slasher movies were still pretty new.

I finally got a copy of the originals of "The Day The Earth Stood Still" and "The Crazies" this week, but I haven't watched them yet.

Also it came out back when slasher movies were still pretty new. 3, 4 ,6, 7 and X are the only good ones. 1, 2 and FvJ are okay. 5 has it's moments but as a whole it's not so great. 8 is so bad it's actually watchable and fun to laugh at. The less said about JGTH, the better. I like the remake but it doesn't stand up well next to the others. IMHO, of course. As for the topic, I saw The Hangover recently. It was okay. Not quite as funny as I had heard it was.

Like two weeks ago I finally saw my first Star Trek movie, appropriately Star Trek: The Motion Picture (the theatrical cut). Surprisingly ponderous. My only other exposure to the franchise was a random episode in Televison History class three years ago. I enjoyed that the movie was not really about the characters.

JCVD - Van Damme gives a fantastic performance in this movie.
Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay - yeah, the title should have been changed.
Dan in Real Life - Carrel's awkwardness really made this role work, and Dane Cook did a good job in it too. WHen he isn't screaming he is pretty decent.
Reign Over Me - Sandler's best performance I can recall.

Jason goes to Hell: Horrible horrible film.
The Dead Zone: Loved it.
What's Eating Gilbert Grape: Another one I loved. I can't get enough of Juliette Lewis. My inner pervert loves her best in the role as the jailbait little girl in Cape Fear. But that is for another conversation altogether.
District 9: A good action flick.

From Dusk till Dawn: Freaking awesome!
The Game: Did not see it coming.
Equilibrium: It was just "okay".

I love both of those. And the Game fits in to that mid 90's dark mindsmurf movie style that was there with Seven, 12 Monkeys, and Dark City.

Yes, a bad movie... but an awesome opening.

I just saw Mary Poppins for the first time about a month ago. Really sweet movie, I'd have seen it much sooner if I knew that Dick Van Dyke was in it.

Just saw "Punisher: War Zone" on demand. I liked it, but, it pretty much killed itself at the box office coming out near Christmas with all that violence and language. It didn't hold a candle to the 2004 one or the comics in terms of drama and whatnot, but, if you want to watch an ultra-violent and at times funny movie, look no further.
