Let's consider the evidence:
High profile matches on their own: JTG competed in the 2008 Royal Rumble In the run up to Summerslam, JTG beat Chris Jericho in a one-on-one match, then faced Big Show in a one-on-one match JTG competed in the 2009 Royal Rumble The week before Wrestlemania, JTG faced Punk in a one-on-one match on Superstars
Shad: Er, he was supposed to face Jericho just after Summerslam, but Teddy Long turned it into a tag match.
JTG is a great talker, Shad isn't.
JTG has a great look, with the customised jacket, and cutoff bullethole jeans. Shad wears a vest and jeans.
Shad's competed in just two one-on-one matches in his three years in the WWE.
Shad has been holding JTG back.
They'll feud, get split at the draft, JTG will be in the midcard scene, Shad will be future endeavoured, because he isn't a very good worker, and is too bland for his own good.

Eh, the Rockers were basically a jobber tag team and they broke up to huge impact. So it CAN work if booked properly. The Colons didn't work because they broke up and went nowhere with it. If they had a long feud with PPV matches and such it may have created interest. Anyway, I agree they have a much bigger chance of fizzling out. I guess, but the Rockers were still very popular and the break up was being teased for weeks. On top of that, HBK superkicking Janetty and throwing him through a window makes a much bigger impact than Shad just slamming JTG to the mat. What also inadvertantly helped the Rockers fued, was Jannetty getting into trouble (he was arrested for possession and assaulting a police officer, but nothing ever came of it) and getting suspended. He was supposed to be off TV a month, and had already filmed his return match - instead he was off nine months, and they played it off as "career threatening", rather than just an injury.

That's GTJ! But what's he doing in the Impact Zone?
Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if he does get released soon. Shad will probably be used as some hired muscle for Jericho or something

I think Shad will easily get pushed to the moon. The guy just got a part in a movie. People don't give him near enough credit when he is in the ring. The guy can move for a guy his size. He is much better in the ring than say a guy like Ezekial or David Otunga.
JTG I could see surviving but I think he will get lost in the shuffle. I could see him form another tag team with either Jesse or R Truth though.
