It's been said several times already, but Jericho vs. HHH on Raw in 2000. The product had become so predictable during the McMahon-Helmsley era that Jericho's victory was the first thing to genuinely surprise and interest me in months. Add to that the fact that the fans were clearly clamouring for a Y2J main event push, and that the Rock/HHH match at the following PPV could have been easily changed to a triple threat, and it seems like letting the decision stand would have been perfectly logical from a booking standpoint.

Shawn Michaels over John Cena at WM 23 A million times yes......Cena could have then gotten cred for chasing Michaels for a couple months and finally overcoming the odds later....the timing of the match stunk

Booker T goes over HHH at Wrestlemania 19. Even if the reign only lasted a day (and yeah, we'd probably still complain about if it did only last that long), it NEEDED to happen. Far and away this. It would have justified the angle, solidified Booker's momentum, made for a great Wrestlemania moment, given a nice breathing point within the reign of terror etc. The long-standing benefits even had he been squashed the following night would have been huge.

This. Can you imagine if the referee had held his ground and rewarded the match to Jericho, the directions that it could have spun off in?
