Triple H is one of the best heels wrestling has ever had. Brilliant in 1999/2000 and his Evolution character had me, a massive HHH mark, wanting someone to kick the ever living crap out of him he was so damn unlikeable.

don't even get a anti-HHH fan started on HHH 2002-2005 title run that ruined wrestling for dedicated fans like me, HHH is like a fly that when you go to swat it it keeps flying away, that title run totally turned me off to WWE, and should've never happened, oh the benifits you get when you marry the bosses daughter, as an old school wrestling fan, it makes me sick.

A dedicated fan would stick through with the product no matter the scenario. Triple H's reign was no worse than Hogans stranglehold of the title in the 1980's and even 1990's in WCW. I must be in the minority that enjoyed his reigns during this era. Seeing his interactions with Eugene came across as pretty evil and his character at the time with evolution as well was gold.

The only time I liked HHH was when he would bring out Stephanie in those mini-skirts and they would sit at the top of the stage in a recliner to watch matches. ;D

the character wasn't bad the problem with it was they didn't have any strong characters that could make you think they could vanquish HHH, until Batista. First you had Booker T, if they could have made him a threat and give more promos and make him credible it could of been great, but was squashed and sent down the card again. Than you had Kane who as huge monster that could be really scary and have good matches but was made of a fool constantly by HHH in the past and.......than lost yet again and his last shred of credibility in his mask, thanks WWE! also to the list you could add RVD, Chris Benoit, and Goldberg. So yeah the character wasn't bad but the booking of it. Ok before Kane lost his mask. Kane from the point of return up that that was horrible. Lets review that. When Kane return what did he do. He came out and laid out the UnAmericans. The first thing he did after that was what? The "Kaneoroonie" The moment he did that killed Kane as a monster. From there he talked normal and very corny with the whole "Freaks are cool" thing and doing Booker T catchphrases. This was BEFORE he feud with HHH. The once he lost his mask Kane becomes the psycho. Which was awesome until Shane came along. Where Kane looked weak against him.

One thing I never understood was the bounty HHH put out on Goldberg in a rehash of the old Harley Race/Ric Flair feud from 80s NWA. You see, in the 80s, Race put out a $25,000 bounty on anyone who could take out Ric Flair, a bounty that I believe was claimed by Cowboy Bob Orton and one other guy whose name is escaping me at the moment. Fast forward 20 years, and HHH puts out a $100,000 bounty on Goldberg, a bounty claimed by Batista (although what a great mirroring with history if Orton had co-claimed the bounty as well, but I suppose the connection was too obvious as it was). Now for the part I don't understand...
Why, when money is involved in kayfabe, they settle on such relatively small amounts? I know $100,000 is absolutely nothing to scoff at, but if it's a kayfabe bounty and no one is really going to claim it, why not up the ante to $250k, $500k, $750k, $1million? Anything to raise the stakes and draw attention to how much HHH hated Goldberg and wanted him put on the shelf.
I'm surprised they don't do it with NXT. I mean, almost every guy on the show is going to end up with a WWE contract anyway, so why should they want to win so bad (other than the title shot stipulation)? Just kayfabe say that the winner gets a $500,000 starting salary WWE contract and a title shot. You don't actually have to GIVE the winner that contract (I don't know if the million dollar Tough Enough really netted Daniel Puder a million dollars, or if they simply meant $250k over four years, in which case, LOL that they released him so quickly), but it raises the stakes so that you feel like something is on the line. $500,000 may not be main event money, but it sure as hell isn't rookie money. And that's why I think money should be used more often in kayfabe. It's great motivation.
And it's also why HHH's heel character was so great at the time, because it was made apparent that he was only able to be this high-rolling big spender BECAUSE he was the world champion and that being world champion nets you ridiculous money.

The NXT winner gets a title shot against any title holder that he wants, so yeah, they are fighting for more than a wwe contract

Just saying it doesn't seem like very much incentive when titles are ultimately treated as meaningless and everyone apparently gets one at one time or another.

Speaking of kayfabe money, remember when they used to refer to the winner's purse in matches? What ever happened to that?

The reign of terror is so burned into my brain that I can never hate John Cena. Cena's reign was pretty much the end of Triple H's constant reign and I personally feel wrestling is better off for it.
