POTENTIAL DRAFT SPOILERS FOR TOMORROW by Mike Johnson @ 4:13 PM on 4/25/2010 World champ Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston, Rey Mysterio and Cody Rhodes were all involved in a commercial filmed to promote the SyFy debut of WWE Smackdown, so one would assume they are going to be on that brand after the Draft tomorrow. However, in the past, SyFy shot commercials to promote the ECW brand with Jack Swagger, Tiffany and Evan Bourne as part of the relaunch of the network's new call letters. By the time they aired, Swagger was off to Raw and Bourne was never featured on that brand, so you can't consider the commercials a clear cut indication that all the talents will actually be on Smackdown by the time the spots debut. Plus, didn't those commercials show Bourne with the ECW Title? Yeah, rumor was the plan was for him to take the title from Swagger before Vince pulled them to RAW.

I would hope Mysterio goes to Raw, and SD gets less established midcarders like Yoshi and MVP.

MVP needs the move more than Kingston, ugh.
I don't think Rey should have left Raw the first time, but hey. Cody to Smackdown is a good enough move.

Since Rey is so popular the kids would probably follow Rey to Raw. I'd like to see a feud between him and Cena. For teh kidz.

Last time Rey was on RAW, he booked almost as bad when he was world champion. Rey was lobbying to stay on Smackdown before that draft. I don't see them moving him to RAW on less they are planning to be missing a lot of the RAW main eventers post draft.

Sorry but the line between the two shows has been dissolved so much over the past couple years this really doesn't mean anything. If we average losing a world champion to another brand once every year whats left for shock value? Agreed. Personally, I see very little reason to care who gets drafted where when people flip flop back and forth between shows on a near-weekly basis anyway.

As long as Punk and the SES stay on Smackdown then they can do whatever they want.

A Rey-Rey vs Cena prolonged feud will result in a lot of me not caring.

Rey on Raw last time was an epic fail. Leave him on Fridays.

Since both of the shows are on NBC Cable stations now, why are they continuing with this farce of a draft anyway? Just merge the rosters already. Nobody will lose any focus since the WWE is in firing spree mode anyway and lots of people will lose their jobs, split or no.

It was pretty obvious Cody was going to be sent to Smackdown, since they apparently felt that giving one of the most prominent tag teams of the last year a proper breakup was a bad idea, and they're so high on Teddy that "just toss that Rhodes kid on the other show" probably sounded like a grand idea to them.
Lucky for Cody, it means he'll actually have a chance.
And if this DOESN'T result in a Goldust feud, I'm going to throw the biggest fit in the history of fits.
I had a feeling about Kofi, too. It seems like a really good option for him. I wouldn't mind seeing a feud with Punk, TBH...
As for Rey, that actually does surprise me. He really works better as a Smackdown guy and I thought they had figured that out by now :/

Glad to see Cody Rhodes and Kofi going to a place where midcard wrestlers actually get Pushed.

If we average losing a world champion to another brand once every year whats left for shock value? I hate how people say this around draft time because it's woefully inaccurate. During the Road to Wrestlemania the brand lines become questionable. But starting WITH THE DRAFT and until the next Mania the lines are clear and solid. People just say this because the draft is right after Mania season.

I mean, sure, people cross draft lines for 'special occasions' far too often for my taste, but people GREATLY over-exaggerate how often it happens. And you know what? Call me crazy, but this year I'm going to take a whole damn tally of how often somebody from one show appears on the other. For the ENTIRE year, I will document when it happens.

I think the Rey move might be based on what I assume might happen: John Cena jumping to Smackdown. It's the same thing as when Triple H and Jim Ross was shifted to Smackdown just so that they could promote the Smackdown move to MyNetworkTV (Which failed horribly) so they need a big name star that's recognizable to push the Smackdown move to SyFy, hence Cena fits the bill.

If Kingston, Rhodes, Bourne and MVP get drafted over to SmackDown, then I would be happy.
Especially if McIntyre gets drafted to RAW in exchange.

Yeah, but the move to MyNetworkTV was close at the time. They're not moving to SyFy until October.

As long as Punk and the SES stay on Smackdown then they can do whatever they want. YES. I'm attending a Smackdown house show in about two and a half weeks - I better see the SES when I'm there.
