Did Flair ever really challenge Hogan in all those years like he said on Prime Time or Heenan said on Wrestling Challenge?
In all those years being the NWA champ, in his interviews all he talked about how great it is to be champ, all the money women and material things he had, and his upcoming challengers. He never mentioned the other world champions.
In those days, the only world champion that would mention the other champions was the AWA champion. The AWA commentators would say or the champion himself would say "we welcome the other world champions to unify all the world titles, but they refuse, and since they due we are the only true world champion." They especially made a big deal when during the build up for Lawler / Van Erich unification match.
I don't recall Ric Flair ever challenge the other world champions in a promo in the 80's?

I remember how awesome and surreal it was at the time. Hogan/Flair was everyone's dream match. I loved his run up until the Rumble, but after that was pissed that he didn't wrestle Hogan in Hogan's "retirement" match. It took WCW to finally get a Hogan/Flair match on TV a few years later. That said, 20 freaking years later they're still feuding and the only time the feud was ever any good was in the WWF, which never he produced a match on TV. Sighs.
